IMO this is somewhere the lofixt really shines as it supports both workflows very well and without many compromises.
I’m not sure if it’s quite a future classic but I wouldnt be surprised.

Great beat! The acapella hits hard! Love it! Took me a while though to realise that it’s a candle on your desk and not a cup of yoghurt with two flies in it.

Finally got to see what all the hubbub and butt hurt is all about…
the MPC Sample is excellent for a first release and and very capable even with the caveats.
I think it SP’s better than the 404 mk2, and does very well at doing the core business of an mpc. Once they get mutes recordable, sort time signatures, and allow the pads to be different length tracks and tame the pad fx it will be the little beast that can as it’s already the little beast that could and it’s so fun to use now I get why so many people are upset about it it’s hilariously fun to use…
I said MPC Mini- they said no
I said fader on the left- they said no
I said flex beat triggered by the pads- they said no
I said sleek like the Ko2- they said oh hellll no!
I’m battin a 1000 but I don’t play ball, I play yes yes ya’ll …and it don’t stop keep on til the break dawn 
padlink, 4 types of fx etc… I think this thing is very well balanced… it feels right in the hands on the table, and on the lap… even the weight is precisely right… Imho the mpc sample, and the model samples feel like the sum of their parts really come together to make the whole feel like an instrument… and we are still only a few days out… I like how it sounds as well

I agree with both sentiments. However, this isn’t my channel/video. I don’t share videos/music online anymore. Bro does lurk around these parts but up to him to pop in and collect the flowers you’ve both offered.
I just dug the video because it best illustrates how I use Sample in addition to as a multitrack recorder/looper—and; why I hope they don’t change too much about it. They clearly knocked it out of the park and don’t need much added. Imo, they just need to refine what’s there.

JFYI I created a support ticket with AKAI because it looks like nobody can confirm that this is working so it might be a bug or a mistake in the manual. I’ll keep you posted when support get’s back to me.

Just for the record, it happens to be protected in certain countries. I understand it isn’t in the United States. You can call yourself a meme engineer there, bro 
comments on Licensed Engineering™ in the USA
in the US it really depends on the field of engineering and the context of the work (as well as the state)… civil engineers, anyone doing anything structural, where something built poorly could kill someone, you need to pass a fundamentals of engineering exam post-bachelors and then a principles and practice of engineering exam after 2 to 4 years of professional experience to become a Licensed Engineer™. For something like electrical engineering, I think you really only need it if you are working on the power grid-- pretty sure you can design commercial products and sell them if they meet FCC requirements and what not without being a licensed engineer. I don’t know anyone working in software engineering that has even thought about taking the FE/PE exams, which is probably not a good thing, because very dangerous things/events can be caused by software, poorly written or not. Software is probably the engineering discipline with the highest tangential kill count of any of the engineering disciplines at this point in the 21st century, setting aside that whole nuclear bomb thing some physicists came up with a while back. But that’s definitely a discussion for a different time and place…
anyway, been busy with other life things and when I’ve made time for music, it’s been with my Move and Ableton Live, but I have come to see the light and bought one of the MPC Samples from guitar center in the wee hours of this morning when they were still in stock / not backordered. Honestly really excited to use it alongside my Move, and it’s also almost certainly going to get me coming back to my Live 2 (which I’ve always thought was phenomenal but always bogged me down in production details more than enabled me to produce actual music) once projects are portable from the Sample to the bigger guys.

Spending more time with the sample tonight. Continue to enjoy using it and its features, however the two sticking points for me are:
- Regardless of workarounds and alternatives I’m not going to jive with the lack of ability to resample a pad directly. Really hoping they can bring this soon.
- Not being able to choose what pads exported chops and recalls land on is not for me. Very much hoping they find a way to either give the user control over this directly or make it much easier to move stuff around.
