The all things MPC Thread (Part 4)

Yes instrument level inputs. Dare I say that acoustasonic would make a fantastic quick sampling guitar?? Acoustic one moment, electric the next.

No way!!, OK I have to nab this now and hope they improve the sequencer later.

Marketing says 5 hours, so real world I’d assume 4. Which for a rechargable device I think is fine, personally, I’m not doing a day’s work on it. If it gives me enough to have a few hours on the sofa I’m happy.

Dang I was really hoping it was gonna have a couple of things that I miss from my 404mkii like an arp, proper sidechaining, resample from external fx. Seeing as how I usually end up in Renoise to arrange/final mix, I really don’t need a song mode. Do we know what the octave range is for the Sample? 404 only has two octaves. No scale mode on the Sample, and I’d really miss that from the 404.

Yeah, 4-5 hours is good. I wish the Move was in that range.

I do have a Dirtywave M8 which is my portable music production device and that’s like… 10 hours I think? Which is great. And of course the OP-1F and OP-XY are like 24 hours which is phenomenal.

But 4-5 hours is definitely a good and acceptable amount. 2 hours is not.

It can probably charge quickly as well. Likely not flagship smartphone wattage speeds, but still. 15 minutes on charge and maybe we can all finish our 5 hour burning man sets.

Nice! Could you please help us check if you can MIDI sequence more than ONE external synth?

Interesting, It doesn’t say instrument level in the manual.

Who’s got the right manual around here??

I’m also referencing that initial video where dude had a bass plugged straight in, I feel like they were really intentional about that.

The one I’ve been looking at is here: https://cdn.inmusicbrands.com/akai/sample/MPC%20Sample%20-%20User%20Guide%20-%20v1.0.pdf

Does anyone of you old school cats with lightning iPhones have tried sampling from phone lightning to MPC sample usb-c yet? Does it work with the camera adapter kit?
Thanks

Ha! How is there two manuals? This is from Akai pro

Edit: to be clear, I hope it is instrument level and the manual is incorrect. Seams like it is if the official video has them straight in.

Even the knob is pushable for menu selections - damn bigger machines annoys me for lacking this as its so natural to push it

Just picked mine up. Its really, really cool for what i needed - a replacement for my 404

It’s funny to read the judgment when it’s brand new. Just wait for the updates and new features. We’ve been sold the first iteration, not the final product

You buy products on what they offer now, not what they promise in the future.
