Yeah I’m hyped for this, want to see the limits of the sequencer and tracks myself. However, looks great
Curious about the sampling time. To rival the SP404 MKII it has to be substantial. I think the SP can play up to 10 minutes of audio per pad or something… times 64 …
Of course, AKAI has to implement a Pad HOLD function.
i posted someting about that it reminded me on millenial grooveboxes like dx200. could be read as if i would make fun of it so deleted it. maybe that was the reason. didnt watch the videos posted. maybe they where negative
edit: post above me got edited. so this dosnt make sense anymore.
I don’t think I need 10 mins of audio on one pad, it sounds good on paper but can’t imagine how useful it be really. Editing would be a PITA especially on the screen which looks smaller than the SP.
Is this seen as a bonus ? Or did I mis-read ?
I can’t confirm the looks, but it is definitely real, and I am going to buy 3 of them.
I am going to buy bought 3 of them. We know those 3 sold on the listing were you and you already have them!
Cap is going to mount one whole MPC sample on the left fader of another MPC sample and be in complete heaven.
I was wondering when we’d hear from you on this. Haha!
I think this thing looks awesome, can’t wait to see it in action! I just keep telling myself I don’t like it, because I don’t wanna buy anything else!
I wish, but it might be a long time before there is another chance to get a stripped down beatmachine like this is purported to be… not gonna miss it
this thing is gonna be inexpensive enough to attempt mods on too
my only wish is that it has skipback like the sp-404mk2
when I think of all of the designer shoes, jeans, jewerly, watches, and fancy hair cuts I don’t have my spirit is at ease over this purchase ![]()
I think about this all the time. I haven’t paid for a haircut since 01. I have used a reusable water bottle since 03. I’ve always brought my own coffee in a thermos to work since I started working. The money saved from quitting cigarettes alone. Not drinking much. All this saving makes me not feel shame around gear.
I have a step sequencer on my Live 3. I don’t need another. I don’t mind if there is one included, but for me it’s just excess weight. I’d like to have basically something akin to SP-404mk2 and KO-2, but with more of an MPC workflow. A simple sketchpad for banging out a simple beat while sitting in a cafe or park bench. I don’t care for JJOS or MPC1000 or any of that. Just a modern MPC with a somewhat simplified feature set.
We’re all hoping the Recall function does this ![]()
Id guess as the recall is on sample and seq record it would recall a live sequence jam and a recall of audio feed
I’m fucking stoked for this thing. Do I need another portable groove box? No. Will I absolutely buy a tiny MPC day 1? Yes. The live 3 is awesome, but I’m not taking it out of my house, it’s too damn heavy and bulky.
The real question is: will I actually record the things I do on this or will it become another little musical black hole that I write lots of music on, but never pull music out of for one reason or another? Grooveboxes have this effect on me.
I’m in this tweet and I don’t like it. ![]()
I do this with every piece of gear I own! Why not one more!
Every time I buy something like this I all ways think I will start beats on it on the go but I never do… I must use the better machine I have because usually it is not worth it, I would rather wait until I can get to the machine with everything I need in it. I do like the idea of it though. I don’t really use my ko2 though and this not worth the hassle of selling that to get this. I have a pelican style case for my live 3 and I can carry it anywhere I need, I don’t find it that bad to carry around… I’m not a backpacking hip hopper though I guess.
