One of my favorite things to do is have all my pads be set to just use NOISE machines in the SRC.
Everything in this track (besides the one obvious sample) is a NOISE machine with filter resonance stuff going on. The filter resonance along with envs and lfos opens a whole world of percussive shenanigans. I heard a youtuber who really should have known better say that the only use for the IMPULSE machine was for click tracks for clock sync. Good grief.
