That one time the sidstation was at the center of an international sampling controversy

Well it was an exaggeration in a way. Not that it is, but that it sounds like. And i actually forgot to mention that, its a totalitarian dystopias politics, not the actual thing. But anyways. Its good that people at least read the last line of a post

If you’re saying the CIA killed Kennedy and because the secret service put him in the Lincoln it played the role of the sidstation, I might agree.

Mentioning the instrument is not relevant if you have the problem with the act itself. It didn’t enable him or ā€œmade it really easy for the big guyā€. People don’t create threads about guitars used for plagiarizing music. The instrument itself is not an issue.

Your analogy would be better using the Italian Carcano M91/38 infantry carbine.

Adam Neely has a video going into this. IIRC, he finds the earliest source for the relevant ā€œmusical materialā€ in neither song, but rather in OutKast’s ā€œRosa Parksā€ā€¦ (which oddly enough, itself was legally challenged for misappropriating, not musical material, but the activist Rosa Parks’ name)

THIS JUST IN:

another famous Commodore 64 song shamelessly stolen:

sadly, I am new here, I can’t put the link to the famous ā€œcoverā€ of this song, but I am sure that a lot of you will recognize it
