Teenage Engineering OP-Z

A mixer will always be more flexible, but the OP-Z can get you a long way.

@dhunterrr I also use digdugdiy’s adapter, and it’s great. I should probably make a box/mount for it to keep things tidy.

This isn’t helping GAS :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I used to have a mixer but sold it trim the setup when I moved continents.

I will probably try the way I described in a couple weeks and see how it goes. Otherwise I might get a bluebox or mackie profx12usb or Behringer Xenyx 1204usb. The last two being cheaper but much heftier and no multitrack recording.

ok , GAS brought me here and I’m now seriously considering getting a second hand OP-z with oplab (can get one for 250 euro’s).

does the op-z also send midi over bluetooth (to e.g. use the keyboard of the op-z with a daw on laptop), just like the op-1 field can?

Yes it does… its is not a BLE host though… so you cant use it with a BLE Midi Dongle lile you can with the OP-1F … but you can easily connect it to the OP-1F, phones etc.

At 250 its a straight up steal… since the last 6 months im using it as a straight up midi sequencer and i love it!

I send BT midi to the OP-Z from OP-1 F, and connect the OP-Z to any synth via trs midi. Works a treat for playing any synth wirelessly from OP-1

almost thought it would be an op-z udpate…

Me too :frowning:

probably no significant upgrades soon then…

agreed, what do you like to sequence with it?

Everything…

But i really like to use serveral tracks to sequence one polysynth or a drum machine so that i stack sequences, which can create some really cool sequences…

This is from darenager and worked for me. No double trigs since doing it

just ordered some deoxit and will try this!

Double trigs = isopropanol on a q-tip and dab it around the buttons, double trigs might come back after a while, but then you just apply it again.

Bent backplate = 6 pcs 3m rubber feet, place in each corner and in the center, this way the plate gets pushed in.

Interesting, do you place the rubber feet on the inside or outside? Don’t quite get it

And whats the benefit of isopropanol over DeoxIT?

I don’t think there’s a real benefit one or the other… isopropanol is more readily available though. But i don’t know whether deoxIT performs better or not.

You place it on the outside. So that when you have the OP-Z on a flat surface it will push the body so that it straightens it out.

Guys any spray electronics contact cleaner will do

aha, do you happen to have a picture of yours? if i understand correctly you place them next to the yellow rubber feet (and in the middle), so it stands on the 3m rubber feet (if thick enough) instead of the stock yellow feet ?

Yea exactly…
I haven’t had this problem myself but I’ve heard from other users who have, that did this trick. So I do t have any pictures…

I’ll see if I can dig something up on the Facebook group

Found this video: not sure if you can see it if you’re not apart of the group.
