I agree, other than I would .like the OPZ step sequencer in my Op-1 and TE wrote the code!
lol, sounds pretty complicated
I would like 16 separate midi tracks on my OP-1Field so I can sequence each synth and drum track
I’m more thinking of a standalone tape worklow dedicated device without other parts of the op-1, but expanded in the tape department
Tp 7 i think is not really suitable as it has no screen, unless theysomehow integrate op-1 to display whats going in there. Also, as you mention, there is only one usb port. I’m currently enkoying one cable audio/midi connection to my DTII, it’s one of the best combinations in my opinion.
NFC in the graphics? Hmm
I’d like an OP-Z, with:
8 tracks
Sample/Synth/Microtonic/Looper engine selectable on each track
Sampling/Resampling
Micro-SD for storage
Built-in Mic
And better build quality.
And a battery that never runs out.
Etc
i think the only way this will snare me is if its entirely new and fills a totally different purpose. i wanna see some off the wall innovation
It’s TE, that’s quite likely!
Well, about that one…
So it’s a snare drum?
well now i want it to be a specialized drum machine, but maybe thats too much like the ep133
Yeees I was thinking exactly this some years back
It’s kinda funny that TE went in the exact opposite direction with the field line. If you shoved the relevant bits of op-1f, tx-6, and tp-7 together in one enclosure, you’d pretty much have your standalone tape workflow dedicated device.
Either way, I’m out.
Whatever it is, I’m out.
I expect you all to hold me to it once it’s announced.
I know the OP-Z has one, I owned one for quite a while, from launch.
I’m just saying what I want in my OP-XY.
Just in case they haven’t put a mic in, then they see my comment, and they go and quickly change it all and add a mic back in.
As was foretold in the prophecies.
narrator: “… but he was not out after all”
The OPZ got so much right, even with flaws that stung many. Too bad the cartridge system didn’t include synthesis expansions, or sample storage. What a few color leds, and magnetic discs provided was genius UI.
EP series sample management has to make it to the next “Z” level device. Kit fluidity was never fully realized with where development stopped. The app was awesome, but unreliable for user loaded kit swapping. TE never went the online APP sample pack route, rather let the users build site marketplaces which was a mixed bag, and recently moved to LP sample sales of all things.
OP-Z 2 deserves to retain its legacy title alongside OP-1.
