Fuck off back to reddit with all this bullshit.
Youve got 4 but you need a hundred to make that DAF wall of xys from the video.
Question about the OP-XY.
I’m looking to get more out of my other synths, so recently I have been looking at sequencers and samplers. Then came along the OP-XY, which sparked my interest as it looks so fun and quick to use.
However, is it possible to sequence an external instrument and record the output at the same time? Can you then also manipulate the recorded audio? I read about slicing possibly coming to this device, but it’s a bit unclear to me.
I was planning on getting a Digitakt II, but honestly, the OP-XY looks more fun to use.
Thank you for this info! Saved what I would have paid in tax.
like an mpc?
Sounds more like the maschine software with the scene setup. Which is a great thing.
saw the description for the kind of music structures you write, what about the XY leads you to believe it can’t do those structures?
so it doesn’t have something similar to the program paradigm?
I must say I am genuinely confused by your flexing. You accidentally got sent 4 OP-XYs - fine. You aren’t really pulling a fast one on anyone. You didn’t need to cancel your credit card for example. When you’re accidentally sent goods you didn’t order, you’re not under any legal obligation to pay for them, and the company can’t charge you for them.
Sometimes people in your position might arrange to send the goods back, although they don’t have to, but it’s generally the right thing to do since its a genuine mistake made by a warehouse worker who might lose their job over it.
But anyway it’s funny that you would brag over a mistake that inured in your favor, while also fundamentally misunderstanding the legal dynamics which caused you to do things that will impact your credit score.
Too many flags.
Please try to make the place better.
This forum doesn’t need bitterness.
Tring not to want one…getting harder as I read more. Keeping thinking I haven’t used my OP-1F as much lately since I got my Move. Maybe this would be better…Grrr, GAS!
I am only coming back to this thread now to see who will be the first person to sell one second hand
New rule!
One flag in this thread gets you a one-day silencing.
So does a joking flag.
Thank you for your understanding.
I’m surprised to see so many posts, here and elsewhere, about folks buying an XY to replace the Octatrack.
On the one hand, it has 8 tracks, all of which can be samplers, performance and sequenced fx, and lots of flexibility.
On the other hand it doesn’t have record trigs or a crossfader/fx scenes.
I mean, I totally see it. I’m just surprised is all.
I think a lot of folk only have room for one sampler in their set up. So the OT will just gather dust.
I’m looking forward to seeing how those folks use it. It seems to be great for both performance and for composition, and for coming up with ideas.
I have Digitone 2, Syntakt, Digitakt 1 in the synth part of my setup. Since I only use DTK 1 for voices and some simple samples my idea is to change this one for the XY.
I have also a M8 and honestly, since it’s so portable I use it more than my setup in the last months. I found this OP-XY the perfect mix between a regular setup, a portable device, with a friendly user interface.
I made Experimental Electronic and Ambient (you can listen my stuff at platforms, as Atum Rex), so also I think that the synths XY include will be so useful for me!
Man. I’ve always wanted to use my op-1 field like people have done with the Digitakt. Basically having 4 samplers playing loops at the same time. (8 in Digitakt)
Last night this is the first thing I tried when my machine arrived and it’s work beautifully!
They gave us the “hold” function making it possible to do exactly what the Digitakt does.
See this video to see what I’m talking about.
This is such a game changer in the TE world.
I don’t see the XY replacing my OT, but rather complement it.
So many possibilities, one that comes to mind is:
Two audio outs from XY into all 4 OT inputs.
Have two OT tracks for loop recordings.
Have the aux midi track on XY handle recording the loop on OT.
Then I can set automatic transitions if I ever need to switch projects on the XY.
The only downside is that I will probably have to start/stop everything at some point as the sequence stops on the XY when o switch project
