What?

Just got UPS tracking info that they received the package (ordered on Friday). So it’s real.

Wow, I’m jealous now. I’m in Vietnam as well, but between a job, two businesses and a baby I don’t have much time for music… or much money lol.

High tax Sweden

But you can take 6 months off work to play on your OP-XY and the government will pay your previous wages right??

Ko ii was assembled?/made in Barcelona, but I imagine the individual off the shelf components were made in China by big name manufacturers.

I’d like to hope this move to relatively more ethical production is also true for the op-xy, especially at its price point. It may make the cost of admissions much more understandable to some, maybe te-david can chime in. It seems truly conflict free manufacturing is not possible when dealing with lithium batteries but hopefully TE is continuing in the right direction

Where in Vietnam? I’m in Da Nang.

that looks like a completely new key mechanism compared to OP-1 field.
Maybe finally no more double trigs like the OP-1 field.

I haven’t looked at a manual yet but, is the sequencer similar interns of structure as the Cirklon?

songs, scenes, patterns (instrument pinned to a track, tracks have patterns.)

They probably had to redesign them due to the LEDs.

That’s the first time in my life I tried to click the play button on a picture. It was a long day… And I’m getting old

anyone with an OP-XY, can you comment on the keyfeel differences between XY and op-1f?
Since they’re different i’m curious if there is a noticeable feel difference or not

The more I looked into this, the more I remembered how much I enjoyed my first groovebox, the OP-Z and if it weren’t for some of it’s downsides like the sample storage/workflow, few projects, globally shared engine slots, etc and then ultimately some real build quality issues (modules wouldn’t stay put and work consistently, double triggers, etc) I probably would have kept it a very long time.

The OP-XY really seems to be the next level for TE offerings with the new style of drum sampler and multisampler. I think i’ll enjoy the engines on the OP-XY more than the OP-1F and I suspect i’ll be parting with the op-1f, even though that is somewhat painful to think of. I realistically don’t love the on-board synths, and always thought the OG-Z engines sounded better and were more usable to me. I also REALLY like having a filter + 2 send effects as opposed to basically one effect slot.

Only comment I’ve come across so far

Has anybody created a comprehensive comparison between the op-xy and the op-1 field? Like a list of features shared and missing from each one?

Guitar Center STILL doesn’t have an OP-XY listing, oopsie that early drop really ruffled some feathers, i’m wondering if they got their first shipment cancelled or something…

It was listed for a minute but clicking on it lead to a 404

Been making a personal list as I’ve been debating swapping my 1f for the xy

On the 1f but missing from the xy:

  • Recording long takes
  • Tape modes
  • Effect per patch (vs sends)
  • Vocoder
  • some different synth engines
  • Radio
  • Individual track exporting

Probably missing some stuff

Looks a lot nicer

The op1 is audio/performance based
The opxy is midi /sequencer

They are virtually incomparable, almost polar opposites

Did you have an op-z?
