Not for the public use? (hope for YES answer…)

Bookmarked the page anyway. Waiting for payment option to work.

not suitable for public use. will publicise the use (and suitability thereof) policy soon.

edit: @sm7x7 i spoke with legal and they’ve green flagged the beta version on the proviso there’s no instructions or responsibility promised. payment is one elektronauts forum  . actually fuck it, payment is sharing some sweet sweet kits in this thread.

@PeteSasqwax

If you do end up ordering one, I recommend watching these tutorials.

(The whole series from @SonWu)

Those really helped me get to know the basics.

Finally had a real go today with the loop mode and you’re right that it’s REALLY dope. I’m still trying to wrap my head around all the performance possibilities. It’s definitely a unique way of mixing up beats.

I noticed that when you hit the stop button to do like a pause and then hit play again, it actually jumps back to the start of the bar, rather than starting at the position you stopped it. You can do some pretty cool stuttering effects this way. Like if you have have a looped vocal sample that spreads across multiple bars, it will keep jumping back to where the vocal sample hits at the start of the bar and you can hit start/stop repeatedly to get it to repeat the line. Opens things up to cool performance tricks.

The loops (LOPS) also work really well with the looper. Better than with one shots I feel. I was struggling to get the timing right for the looper with my normally sequenced beats, but if you’ve got loops going it feels like it’s much easier to jump in and out of the looper without screwing up the rhythm of the beat.

This opens up a whole new element to this thing for me, and I already loved it. Haha. Unlike any sampler I’ve ever used. :exploding_head:

New update for K.O II and Riddim is now available in the updater tool! No release notes yet.

I hope this update fixes the crash issues reported by Riddim users. I updated my KO and haven’t noticed anything new so far.

updated this, tried to make a path of least resistance multisample exporter for the lazies.

  • Drag in 8 sounds (or more, use <> to move regions around to experiment with desired order for final 8)
  • Name the multisample
  • Set rate and repitch to taste
  • Hit export (the default export is a kit on C4 octave)
  • Import to EP (and/or share below)

Transient detection isn’t always on point, hopefully the region dragging feels fast and intuitive for start end point adjustments. Full key range mapping potential should be possible, there’s looping per sample and other stuff going on.

My batteries finally died. Not sure how many hours, but great battery life. Just as a warning to others, my machine started to make all sorts of crazy cracking sounds and crashing a bunch when the batteries got low. I was starting to worry I had somehow bricked my machine, but then I saw that the icon in the top left corner was blinking and realized what was going on. I actually deleted a project I was working on out of fear that I had a corrupt sample or something. Won’t make that mistake again.

Tried my Ting out last night for the first time, updated latest fw.

It’s a pretty mental piece of kit. Both in terms of rawness and potential.

A bummer is that if you leave it to auto power off that then creates a hum on the input. no biggie, but must be unplugged if not in use?
I also experienced it once return to factory settings, and required pressing black usb button to reload my samples and config.

Each FX preset can have an FX chain. there’s 10 effects!!! i didn’t realise this.
readme does mention “if your config file is so extreme that the unit will not start, hold green + white button when starting and then fix the file.”

I haven’t fully tested yet how far extreme means, as in max number of fx in a chain? is there a limit!? not sure yet. 4 mod sources per preset, not sure what the trigger does, any ideas?

I wonder who’ll be the first to be brave and mod a 3.5mm socket line input… (not sure if the Tings board has a line in already (but would then need fw mod), or if some resistors and caps beforehand would be enough…?)

Created a (not fully tested) config.json builder to expedite the process.

Strangely no hum when used with my MicroKorg 2 or SP404MKII.

What’s the deal with these effects chains and 10 FX?

are you using batteries or usb? and it deinfeitly turns off? when it’s active its fine.
also my tests were onboard speaker only, which could be a factor,… do you get the hum through the ep40 when ting is off?

FX can be chained in any order, so that’s quite alot of potential variations beyond just a reverb, or ringmod. coupled with the mod sources the potential is insane. and i guess TE have scope to add new FX in future udpates.

Batteries and definitely on auto power off. I had some hum when not in use on the EP-40, none when active and none with the other devices. I actually haven’t tried it again with the EP-40 since updating the firmware. Will have to try again tomorrow.

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!!

My first multisampled kit (808):

this is great, it’s working!!

i was going to add some audio tools (gain, pan reverse, xfade loops etc) for regions, but it’s a whole other thing and a road i don’t want to go down.

In this 808 kit your Kick is one of the quietest things, as AMP affects the whole kit this could be problematic. I’d ensure externally that the kick sample is loudest beforehand so the kit balances out a bit more in use. this maybe my personal preference. velocity comes into play also i suppose.
and externally you can pre pan stereo samples to create a more dynamic sound set. (i haven’t done enough testing on stereo exports and how mixing mono and stereo sample is working, should be fine, be keen to hear user experience, there maybe a few bugs still)

Doesn’t show the Supertone synth as a stereo… I always had an aural impression that it’s stereo, now have to believe contrary :person_shrugging:

Where did you get the release notes? I’m curious about what changes were made to the EP-133.

For the EP-133 it shows 2.0.5 but for the download it is still 2.0.2…
