What is the level at? I have noticed behavior where increasing AMP on a sample seems to affect the level of all other samples. Kind of like it is taking over the mix rather than breaking through. To a degree, in my experience this is also true with the reverb and delay effects. Namely, they don’t add a tail to the sound, rather replace the sound altogether.
Fudge. Fader DOA. Thomann, loosey goosey box-in-a-box. Limited edition indeed.
If you’re pushing the master compressor too hard, and you got a lot going on in your mix, what you’re describing could be the result. While it’s early day still, I treat the master compressor in the EP-133 like I treat compression in general - with caution, sometimes not using it at all. I tend to want the dynamics rather than squashing them.
it’s just on the first layer. If I use the same samples on other layers it sounds fine. I have never been so torn about a new piece of gear, usually I’m up an running with a piece of gear after a few hours but this thing keeps derailing me. I’ll look back and laugh in a few days probably, unless it breaks.
Are you sure that you haven’t set any fader values? If you start a new project and load the same samples onto different layers, do you get the same result? I have had issues with fader values being set by mistake and you can apply all fader fx simultaneously.
I’m an old codger and a bit slow, I haven’t worked out how to start a new project yet…
Hold MAIN and a number for a while and you switch
I did last friday morning. A DHL label was created right away and i got an order confirmation in my mail. Nothing since then…bitchy move, it looked like it was immediately available and you can NOT just cancel an order. You can only send it back on your own cost PLUS 10€ fee.
Lesson learned i guess…
Yeah, it really makes me wonder if Thomann actually have real people involved in packing boxes. Mine came in a bigger box without any padding, fader was slightly bent and DOA. Sent it back.
Don’t sleep on the speaker folks. Sure, it ain’t exactly hifi or window rattling but a great feature of the device. Especially when away from monitors and working through ideas with others which I think is obviously worked into its purpose. Lego!
Received mine last night from Guitar Center. Was disappointed by the fact that there was barely any padding inside the box and the fact that the KO II box itself had a bent corner. However, everything is working as it should. No fader or speaker issues.
another good reason to have the fader controlled via midi so eventually less pressure on that side of the device
Beside raiding a preschool or child’s toy box… what’s the best kit or place to grab basic Lego shapes for KO2?
Well . . .its difficult to answer. I would definitelly skip DUPLO and go with Technics series. From the previous post I assume those are from Executor Super Star Destroyer™](https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/tdb-lsw-2023-13-75356), or maybe Millennium Falcon™ or AT-AT™. Maybe buy all three just to be safe.
Depends where you are but most lego stores now have a section in them where you can buy indivdual bricks and odd pieces.
There is a store near where I live in NL where you can even rent Lego pieces.
This small piece that fit’s on the fader is from a technical set. Not sure how easy that would be to find but different coloured caps are common.
You the man !
Hopefully I won’t get to distracted and go all Zach the Lego Maniac building Destroyers instead of beats.lmao.
Thanks @jasl ! The mall by my home has a Lego store and Target apparently has a Lego section as well so I’ll start there.
rtfm… seriously
You sure you haven’t enabled filter with fader? Even if its not the active effect, you can use it per group with the fader and its not always obvious its in use.
