Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

I received mine yesterday morning from TE. I placed my order on the morning of the release (that was Wednesday?) at about 1150am EST here in the US. I never received a shipping notification from them. It just showed up. About 10 minutes after I had opened a support ticket to check on the timetable. I only had a minute to check it out and was dead careful putting that damn fader cap on. It seemed to function just fine.

The 5 minutes that I did get with it were fun! Looking forward to getting further in after work tomorrow.

I ordered directly from TE the 23rd, early morning CST. Still no shipping info. I should have ordered from Guitar Center FFS.

same deal here, was thinking about canceling but I’m just going to wait it out, maybe they’re spending extra time packing them to make sure no faders get broken?!

Yeah, they added it to the TX-6 though with the built in mic I feel like this feature has been elevated.

Happy to report that everything works just fine with the unit. I applied gentle pressure installing the fader knob.

So far it’s fun.

The power button was also whacked. It was in the packaging and there is a little cutout for it but somehow it was pushed up and created its own extra cutout. Really hard to turn on and off. I would only buy one again in the store if I could open it there and make sure. But back to eurorack and Bitbox micro

I was also surprised to see that basically there is just a cutout in the packaging for the power button…

Also, there seems to be literally no reason, other than a little gimmick, to make us put the knobs on the unit. Maybe to show us that it’s LEGO and we can do other stuff with it? Why not just mention that?

I’m extremely happy with my fully functioning unit but I’d be a fool to say I think this was packaged properly. It didn’t need much more, hopefully the non-limited edition packaging (who knows how ‘limited’ the packaging is) is at least a bit more robust

OH! Not sure if this has been mentioned or is in the manual but holding Shift + Pad in your group will solo just that pad within your scene. Nice way to switch things up. Try soloing a pad, keep it held down and engage fx on just that pad/pattern. Release Shift to drop back into the whole beat with fx still engaged or not.

The power knob doesn’t feel great and fills me with impending dread. Im scurred

My friend just got one and confirmed the fader knob also is faulty, works if you press really hard. Looks fun though

It’s from guitar center if that makes a difference

I am very curious how long the working units will continue to work. Is the fader issue a matter of too much force, or may it happen to anyone over time. If the fix is to bend sth, it will eventually loose contact again. Mine worked perfectly fine for ~10 minutes and then broke.

I want that thing really bad, but am not sure if i should wait for a potential update on that fader.

edit: my power switch also felt like it was challenging me to a strongman competition

Power switch is a real menace. Surprised I didn’t have much about how hard it is to turn on.

It’s strong

But hey, won’t have any accidental power off concerns lol

Do someone have an overview (perhaps something easier to read than the guide), of all the shortcuts on this thing?

There’s the laminated card that came with it.

Doesn’t mention all of them, does it? Shift+pad solos track, fx+group solos group etc…

I don’t know, I didn’t count. What’s it missing?

that card is so poorly designed, they really fumbled the bag with all of their guide/manual materials
