Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

PO 137 was just a special edition 35, for example. I really really hope 1320 is just a special edition 133.

Fair point, but there is no PO-37. There will almost certainly be a EP-132… In that case it would seem very odd to name a EP-133 variation EP-1320.

i kinda do hope its just a crazy naming choice for a reskinned 133 so we can get the “just got my new KO-1330 Pocket II, whats an audio output?” posts on reddit

My take is that the EP format offers way more capabilities to just be “restricted” to one PO model. We could get 32 + 35 in EP format or something completely new that would get a new numerical notation.
Real answer is

We don’t know lol

so the thing is, dude from guitar center who has been posting on reddit for a few months now about this recently wrote “i can’t say anything more until the 6th”… which is 1 day sooner than the 7th. so either the embargo is lifted tomorrow and it releases on the 7th, or then its out tomorrow somehow???

One other thing I noticed is that there is no reference at all to samples or sampler. The Japanese text translates to Roderick’s Paradox, and the front panel says “Instrumentalis electronicum”. Also what would be the sample button on the ep-133, on this it says “demus” which means “to give”, and instead of chop is the word “exemp”, which could be short hand for “exemplum” meaning “example” or “model” in English.

The “loop” button says “necto” which means “to tie” or “to connect” which can be equated to loop I guess.

Anyways, I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
I, for one, am hoping for synthesis as opposed to samples.

My money is on an EP format Tonic. Although the medieval theming baffles me…

The year 1320 was in medieval times?

Surely, surely this is just a reskin + sample pack. If it’s truly a new device, I’ll be both impressed that they committed to such a wild design and also disappointed they haven’t revised the hardware controls.

So was the year 1330 though…

Medieval age lasted roughly 1000 years from 500-1500

Demus could also be a reference to Chaka Demus & Pliers who’s hit single was “Tease Me”….:eyes:

This has certainly been a tease!

Well in Sweden the Viking era was between 700-1000 ish and the renaissance started about 1300-1400 and lasted to 1600 so it’s not far off to say that 1000-1320 is the medieval times :relaxed:

I’m just here because I’m curious if it’ll be a synth one and I like the art.

Same. If it’s just a reskin I’ll pass, but if it’s something new, I’m all in.

I didn’t see this posted on here yet. Childish Gambino’s new album promo account on instagram. It was the first post on the account.

Hyped they’re possibly making some new boxes, just don’t want to lose sight of this…

I’d rather be able to record FX than resample to bake in FX. Resampling is needed too though.

It’s because the Microtonic VST is as old as the Middle Ages.
