Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

ended up going with the update, no problems using Edge on windows. big ups to TE for sprucing up the updater utility too. it seems smoother and more responsive this time around, maybe im just imagining things

Hi Sm7x7, watch my edited post above.

In one day, updated without any problem. Hint: always wait for one day after publishing new updates…

I noticed that too. Upon completion it seemed have a new animation and correctly notified that I had updated to the new version (which it hadn’t always done in the past)

that animation was what got me noticing! my monkey brain appreciates the visual feedback

@te-david Still hoping for the bug fix for MIDI CC to buffer prior to recording! :frowning:

I’ve seen it affect recording sustain, pitch and mod wheel. Sustain simply isn’t recorded at all since it’s on/off. Mod wheel is similar to pitch wheel, the first position is ignored and only once it changes does it then record.

I must be the minority who use the device in this way, but for those who do this bug is a big one!

finished my month of tunes and decided to film the recording sesh of the last beat! normally i record the beat in one run, record the tags and impacts in another run, then record the fx in a final run. this time i challenged myself to do them all at the same time, good practice for a live set!

Another little tune! A basic synth lead is placeholder for a vocal melody.

Im using mine as a sound module on just one group for drums and samples being sequenced by my vector modular sequencer. Works great so far so I did not have to buy an in rack sampler.

Musician’s Friend store on Reverb sells EP-133 for $185 - hurry! Missing knobs according to the description, but seemingly nothing else…

been starting this nearly-summer season with a bunch of park time. making a loose goal to hit a different park each time i go out for a tune session on the grass. thankfully theres like 400+ parks here. sampled some synths off the op-1f, did it all on the ep133, recorded/fx’d it on the sp404.

In Cuckoo’s very first video, he shows how to dial a sample number with the numerical pads. Can one also dial a step number in the sequencer to jump to it?

Example: dial 2.4.1 to jump to the last beat (in 4/4) of the second bar to put an open hat.

That would be a killer feature for us users of unconventional time signatures. Moving around steps with the +/- pads (and shift to move between bars, right?) feels a bit tedious.

the methods you mentioned are the fastest currently available methods. i could see that being a useful feature, could be a tricky implementation, im not sure. i feel like they added options for unconventional time signatures but at the end of the day i think its physically designed for more traditional time signatures.

went on a day trip back to my old college town and spent a bunch of time on a beach and at a waterfall. made a tune at both spots on the ep133, i sampled all the synths off the op-1f. i like how the screen on the ep133 is usable even in the bright light, makes things easy to work on outside. came home and recorded them on the sp404. soundcloud has started suggesting ā€œWorldā€ and ā€œCumbiaā€ for the genres for my tunes, hyped to be leaving the lofi/hiphop pigeonhole they put me in

from the beach!

from the falls!

Anyone else start each day checking the EP133 Updates page on TE’s website? Wondering when we’re going to get these new features hinted at some time ago…
