What are you plugging the hub into? Why is the hub needed? I would think if it works with a hub it would work directly. No laptop involved?
I didnât even think a logical argument against resampling in a sampler existed⌠still donât
Testing hereâŚIâm not getting any transport control, clock, or midi notes via USB. If either device had host capabilities you would be able to plug in a midi controller via USB as well. Maybe @sm7x7 will come back and let us know the setting used. If a standard USB hub works as a USB host then we all could benefit from your setup.
ah i do this too with the 404mk2 and the ko2. i use the 404 like a studio. sampling everything into it, effecting it composing/constructing a little. then sample it into the ko2 to arrange and chop etc. more of an overview arrangement flow for the ko2. it works great. i make beats and stuff and sample directly on the ko2 as well but with so many sources this 404mk2>ko2 workflow is really excellent for me.
very nice! yeah theyâre my comfort zone now, its very fun to just have a system that always feels inspiring
USB MIDI devices cannot be connected directly to each other, and a USB hub cannot function as a MIDI host.
this is Ankerâs stealth launch for their midi hub
idk about you guys but when i connect ko and z via usb theyâre talking to each other immediately
donât think iâve ever touched the settings on ko but theyâre: clock - in, sync - in / 16
edit: tested 3.5mm trs from line module on the z to the ko and works immediately as well
Because the Opz can act as a MIDI host, neither the KO II nor the S1 can.
ah i see, but there has to be way to midi/sync those two as well
I bet the EP has lower resolution this kinda quantifying your hits
I fingerdrum on the KO2 in free mode most of the time, but still the sound is just right for hip hop and breakbeats in general somehowâŚis it the converters? Is it some internal processing? I donât know but it does sound very good
@PearTreeCraft, I came back to apologize for the wrong product above (that one hub is used to power the USB keyboard for the setup, and not for the sync with the sound modules - @schoolbabyboy and @Elijah were right
). The correct products are as follows:

I personally use CME WIDI Uhost one, tiny in size but works for both BLE MIDI and wired MIDI. Itâs widely available at Amazon as well as in all other music stores. And, again, the mentioned above USB hub is used for the powering the USB MIDI controllers (freeing the MIDI in/out for other devices). One more time apologizing for the mis-info earlier.
I have Kenton host as well, it uses mini USB for powering (way outdated), but works without problems. Itâs much more expensive though.
Hey thanks, I do have a Kenton Host.
I think itâs low record jitter and low pad latency. Many modern samplers and daws/midi controller combinations can be a little wonky, i think. In other words: the ep seems tight.
The improved sound might be thanks to KOIIâs master compressor.
By the way, I like KOIIâs pads because they donât double trigger.
i really like this springtime tune i made on the ep133 today. made the chords in back by sampling smaller pieces of chords, two or three notes, then jumbling them around together rhythmically. might be a new favorite method.
Does anyone here has experience operating two Ep-133 in sync that he/she is willing to share?
Intuitively Iâd say that this solution could possibly provide many things right now, that people are waiting for te to add as software update. Features such as resampIing, more fx, etc⌠I was thinking maybe one ep133 for drums and the other one for samples, bass chords, melody. Also one could use different pattern lengths playing simultaneously for some interesting pattern variations.
I mean why wait. Itâs pretty affordable, especially used.
On the other hand, things might not work as expected or break the workflowâŚ
