This is amazing - my first product from TE was PO-33 - recently got a good deal on OP-1 classic and last but not least the EP. Love all of them and the OP inspired me to work on my own pure data tape/sampler patch (wip). I love this conversation and I want to work for them!
Same story here, actually, and same feelings that it would be amazing to work on projects like this. My current job scratches that itch a bit, but I hope someday to get closer to that target.
Any idea?
So youāre holding the fader button and selecting something like the LPF. Making some adjustment there. Then holding the fader button again, and selecting Level. Then when you make adjustments there it no longer works to adjust the level aka volume of the group?
If so, Iām not too sure why it wouldnāt work.
Maybe as a work around, you can hold one of the group buttons down, and use the fader to adjust the level (volume) for that group?
hold fader button, press 7
Can we get an alternate firmware on that unused core? Maybe a calculator? Tax season is upon is, and I just want to be prepared.
I want the fader to raise and lower my windowās blinds.
Teenage Engineering Tax Utility when?
Ah god Iām dumb, thank you.
Iād like to thank everyone on this thread for the information and discussion on the EP133. It took me a while to get my hands on one due to the demand and finally found a working one on EBay for a little more than asking price. This forum kept me up to date and entertained while I was waiting!
A few people have have been asking about a suitable case and I thought Iād share a good option I foundā¦Iām not sure itās been mentioned here before.
The Magma CTRL case fits perfectly, I think itās originally made for the 404 but itās a good fit. My item arrived without the eggshell foam inside so I found a piece from some other gear and cut it to shape. The old piece of foam already had a perfect cut out in it to allow space over the fader. The case has a hard shell on the outer and with the foam Iām confident it will be protected well while Iām on the road. I grabbed mine on sale for Ā£15, which is great.
Hereās some pics! Only allowed one pic per post.
Youāre welcome ⦠and youāre definitely not dumb! But I get feeling that way. Weāre all learning this thing together.
Got mine in the mail yesterday. I ordered it from TE when they restocked. Seems to be in good working condition. NGL it is already a lot of fun! Thanks to all you folks answering āhow toā questions in here. Quick search has already helped me when Iāve gotten stuck.
Same here with 1.1.2
Online user guide: Following function does not work anymore
10.1 Sample pro-tip! after recording, audition a sample by pushing the pad again.
Didnt David say on the interview a new firmware is coming super soon? Hopefully its going to fix this⦠Just received mine and its so beautiful and also fun to play It really is missing resampling and recorded punch in fx but outside of that its such a solid instrument ā¦
Whatās your thoughts about the send fx and parameters limited per group and not per pad ? I know it would be nice to have more flexibility and changer everything per pad, but wouldnāt that start to be a mess very quick, with a level for each pad, for each group ? I think TE designed the KOII with everything revolving around the 4 groups to keep it simple and immediate.
As much as it sounds crazy cool on paper I dont quite think this is the instrument for such modular approach to sound design/parameter locking/fx.
What youāre basically asking is instead of having 4 send fx youād get like⦠48 send fx total? thatās crazy. Could the CPU handle that? That would also get confusing really quickā¦
I think David really pinpointed how the instrument was about giving something easy to play and understand to quickly sketch beats/songs. Its important to keep that design philosophy in mind.
Basically I think adding features that make it more playable and fun is cool - like resampling which you could use to basically add fx on fx on fx - but adding crazy complex stuff like deep p-lock and fx like on the big elektron boxes ⦠feel like its not the right device for it. But who knows right?
I would love to be able to loop stuff and switch between a pre recorded loop and current scene with fader (or between two scenes?) that would be cool.
I also think being able to change samples PER scene on a same group would really open up the KO II without turning it into a complicated mess.
I agree, and Iām not asking for it, but I know some people want it. This is definitely not the sampler with the same intended depth as a digitakt for example. I donāt mind this lack of depth for the fun and ease of use the KOII has. I think TE really nailed it with the immediacy of this sampler.
yeah its also like⦠how do you interact with such depth on the given instrument interface right? Like youād need one extra led or something on screen telling u which pad you are on with what fx are on or not⦠I donāt think the device is quite fit for that⦠but we will see? Maybe for a ep-133 KO II mk 2? hahahaā¦
But really I think more performance stuff with fader, looping, resampling and maybe more send fx per group would make the ep-133 pretty much perfect.
