No spare parts yet.
Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately I can only find information about the fader, not the knobs.
If anybody interested, TE has EPās in stock now:
Good lookinā out! Order placed!
well we didnt get to see any new updates for NAMMā¦
i also bought the thing in hopes of finally being able to retire my MPC 1000 but it seems that is not the caseā¦
Itās frustrating that the sample edit system is a browser app. It doesnāt work on my android phone or ipad chrome. I have to use a desktop or laptop it would seem. Thought there would be at least an ios app like the op-z has.
The lack of iOS connectivity could be changing very soon. Apple is finally easing restrictions on non-Safari web browsers on mobile, which means we could finally have web MIDI apps work on iPhones and iPads.
Is there a way to transfer samples without the app? Like a drag and drop function via usb? It would be short sighted if they expect people to rely on a browser app
you can always sample them in
I have some loops recorded into the KO2. Everytime I set the KO to start on the first down beat (and not hitting play), it triggers the loops. I want to reset the box to start on the first down beat without triggering the loops Anyone know how to do that?
By using the Shift+Play button, you can play from the beginning without triggering the sample during the rewind.
Good tip. Only challenge for is that if I just want to go back to the first beat and not have the sequence play, the loops still are triggered.
I guess another way to ask it is, how do you stop a long sample from playing once itās triggered?
Take 1 pad from each group, assign a random sample to it, turn down the volume so you canāt hear it, and assign it to the same mute group as the rest of the samples. Now anytime you trigger the silenced pad it stops playback of that group.
Selecting a group with no sample triggering on the first beat seems to allow quiet rewinding.
Heyo guys.
Got some Sync question for you.
One of my customers (and dear friend, I might add) just sent me a bunch of tracks he recorded on his set-up.
Namely, an OP1 Field, a SP404mk2, an EP-133 and a Digitakt.
Upon mixing these tracks, I noticed a noise, spread across multiple frequencies, on the tracks labeled as EP133.
When asked, he told me he simply connected the EP133 to the op1 Field and recorded patterns from the EP to the OP. Connections went as follows :
EP133 out to OP1f audio in via 3,5mm stereo cable (to get the audio signal)
EP133 usb to OP1f usb via Apple USB-C cable (to get the MIDI sync)
He lended me his EP133 so I could help him troubleshoot what went wrong.
And when trying to replicate the issue, quick enough, I got that same parasite hum.
Upon closer inspection, it appears that the hum is probably due to some USB-C charging ground loop.
When disconnecting the USB-C, the noise goes away.
Trying to turn off the USB-C charging doesnāt work on the op1 Field.
Tried many variations : with or without fresh batteries in the EP133, various cables either direct in or through many hubs. But the noise persists. As long as thereās charging, thereās noise.
And the issue here is that the op1f only takes MIDI sync via USB-C (as per TE support feedback).
I tried to use PO sync mode to maintain the Sync in between, but after an hour worth of plugin/unplugin stereo cables and setups, nothing worked in between the two.
I tried his op1 Field and mine - this changes nothing.
His EP133 doesnāt produce noise when connected to an iPad, an audio interface or my SP404mk2.
I can salvage about 70 to 80% of that noise using RX10. He agreed on being charged for the audio repair, since there is no backup tool and he deleted all projects to free up space on the EP133.
So here goes my questions :
- is there absolutely no way to turn off USB-C charging on the op1F when connected via USB-C to the EP133?
- has anyone been able to work out PO sync mode in between the op1f and the EP133? I tried about 5 different ways based on reddit threads and OP Forums answers, but nothing works. I have enough cables and splitters to make this happen, but I canāt figure it out.
- Has anybody noticed that same noise?
I included a screenshot from RX10 showing the horrendous noise in spectral mode (look out for continuous horizontal lines throughout the audio file : thatās our culprit caught red-handed!). I couldnāt get the video to upload. But tried to describe it to the best I could.
Thanks for any feedback. Iām out of options, for now. TE has the weirdest ecosystem of all.
Thanks for your time!
Was using EP with my blackbox in similar manner to the one you described and I didnāt noticed any hum, but it was only on small shitty speaker. Will play around later today on the main system and let you know, but I only have old OP-1 and I know it has noise of its own when compared to field. I got trs type A adapter while ago and prefer to use it for midi on the EP when recording, not touching usb. Had so many issues with noisy usb in the past, that I do as much as I can to avoid it. *also: I work as AV tech - love troubleshooting you did and overall quality of the post - this place is my favorite place on the internet š»
Thanks for the kind words.
Tried my best to make this as documented as possible : it all lies in the details, most of the time.
And thanks for your time. I appreciate it.
Shift + COM, turn orange knob? Also, a ground loop isolator might be helpful.
I tried this about 10 times - but it doesnāt work at the time, I guess.
Iāve read numerous reports where this option doesnāt work properly.
I think, ultimately, the ground loop isolator might be the only option.
But thatās a really weird choice on TEās part.
