Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

They use a font without capitals to imbue that teen spirit smell.

It’s not uncommon

Smells like teen spirit a bit too much

Yes, he was graciously replying to me comparing the two! I have both and just wish the $1999 device could learn a few things from the $299 device. Stereo delay/chorus, a count in, fantastic sequencing. Or just play well together. It’s hard to believe they’re from the same company. They have a hit on their hands and it could teach some of the older dogs it’s new tricks.

It’s called EP-133 - K.O. II.
Not ep-133 - k.o. ii.

Theory debunked.

Yes!

In their communication for some reason they refuse to use capitals

between the EP-133 and the OP1f there’s the OP-Z which is a real powerhouse in its own.

they’re similar in features and workflow, but a lot more on the Z in comparison.

did someone already tried to remove the display/cover with the fonts to only see the animation on the LED panel behind it?

it should also graphically represent something but monochrome image

Hi, don’t know if you saw my suggestion for soloing/muting but I believe it’s a good one - instead of permanently holding down FX and GRP to solo, press FX and GRP once to solo then Press FX and GRP again to reverse the state. This would free up both hands. It would also negate the need to use the fader to mute tracks as solo and mute are effectively the same thing for 4 tracks.

I want the loop and the tempo to switch. It make sense that the playable mode is the shiftless one.

My TE case arrived today. Looks dope, but it’s not worth the price + shipping.
Also… it’s more like a dust cover :)) than a case.

Bummer is that I don’t think you can fit a Decksaver in there :frowning:

I went with the Pelican 1075 case. Same price as the TE one but with robust Pelican standard protection.

Can’t wait for the Mk2 of this thing. Mk1 seems problematic.

There’s no animations. There’s an alpha-numerical led display, but everything else is an on/off led light to light up fixed symbols.

It is very much like a kids toy in many ways, but then you can adult the results.

I got mine too… I knew it was over priced but what kills me is that the strap is fixed on. I can remove it from one side, but is sewed on the other side.

For the price, the strap should at least be removable.

@te-david, please offer this feedback. It’s a fun design and knowingly stupidly priced, but there’s no reason we shouldn’t have functional usefulness from these accessories.

A removable strap wouldn’t change the form factor.

Very grateful TE refunded my moneys without hesitation after cancelling my order. I love TE

Hopefully MK2 will be better. Good luck, y’all

Felt covers for the EP-133 are now available on Etsy. Waiting for my order  They do their job nicely on my SP-404 and SH-4D.

I ran out of sample space quite fast. I bounced everything to a “song”. I love sampling the mic.

The TE soft case? Yeah, I got mine also… hoping my fanboy case will fit inside

Heyall, sharing a lil list of errors I’ve noticed in the first 3 minutes of checking out my EP-133…

  • fader not working (no issue putting the knob on, definitely didn’t damage it myself) ***edit fader is working if I press down on it… is that normal? And do the effects only work on individual sounds? not on total playback?
  • a few buttons stick often (and stay down until pressed a couple more times)
  • speaker is blown
  • I’ve barely checked out any other features, but hope nothing else is wrong:/

bummer!

I don´t know, if it has been mentioned before, but the factory samples are great! I´ve already loaded them on my other sampler.

You can choose only one effect globally, and set send levels to that effect for each group.
