Hello,
is “self factory reset” a thing (bug) ?
Boot my EP-133 this morning, it did a weird move like boot but get stuck with no screen light, had to turn off and start again.
Then, no sound, nothing, projects empty, no samples, none, zero niet kaputt.
Can i get some of my stuff back or are all my banger gone ?

thanks for the info, we will inform thomann about warranty replacements that the should be able to receive from us next week.
faders are tested 100% on board level (by a human), we measure the range and max/min values on all, records stored in our db tied to the serial-no for good reverse tracking when unexpected things like this happen. then the unit is put together by a screw-robot with controlled torque, after another robot is testing the fader once more to ensure it operates like it should.

I swear the stupid web transfer app only exists to turn people off from using their own samples and are forced to use the TE samples … then once a bunch of tracks are out TE can sell a KOii sample pack.
Hate having to use a program to transfer samples sorry.

It seems the EP-133 resamples all the samples you load via the sample app to 46kHz or something. I tried saving some space by loading 22kHz samples, but they doubled in size once in the EP-133.
The old trick of pitching up (well, halving the time) of samples works though.

For samplers that can sample the analog input, a transfer tool is only an option.
(On the KO II’s display, browsing external storage would be impossible, and the CPU of the KO II might also take some time for sample conversion.)

When you use the app to upload samples, what format does it convert them to? Do they stay stereo or get converted to mono?

I feel like you’re not an actual user of this.
Are you currently using their sample utility?
Its web-based, no downloads, no drivers, etc (way better than most ‘tools’ for this, since it doesn’t have an SD card)
It’s purely a helpful function and includes sample editing features right there, so you can easily trim and edit while loading up.
It automatically converts what you throw in there to work (I threw in 100 of my favorite drum samples into the 700 bank) and it worked perfectly.
i immediately wanted to load my own samples so that I could arrange them in a way that I knew what i was doing. Fortunately there was enough space on the device for me to do that and keep all the stock samples SO, now I can know what I’m doing and still have fun browsing the stock samples when i feel like it.
This utility does not at all turn me away from using my own samples, it makes it extremely easy to use my own samples on a device that only has onboard memory and runs at a weird sample rate.
If I sample directly on the device and save that sample, I can easily download it in the utility too. So there is built-in a great way to get your samples off the device as well.
TE has had a utility for their other samplers as well for a while now. They’ve released free sample packs but have never set up a shop and charged for sample packs so idk why this utility is an indicator to you that they’d start now…
In my opinion this is the next best thing to just having an SD card and open file loading, and this even has advantages over that like basic sample editing.

I have had my unit for 10 days. Just woke up this morning, turned on the machine and everything is wiped.
All sounds, all projects and all patterns. What a great feeling this is.
@te-david This is a massive issue. Having a device that randomly hard resets and deletes everything off the unit should not be sold. It’s absolutely insane that this hasn’t been addressed. It’s now a 50/50 shot if your work is still on the machine every time you shut down and turn on. I was good for 10 days of use then wiped.
This just brought the honeymoon to an end…
How can a product this beautiful have these show stopping bugs inside? Especially this one…Everything is gone…

It honestly just breaks my heart with what is happening. One of the biggest fans of this device and it feels like it’s breaking up with me. Gutted right now.
Guess I am going to start the return process. Loosing 10 days of creativity is the final straw for me with no acknowledgement from @te-david about this crucial issue from his responses. He seems to be glossing over this issue. Kinda don’t blame him. Just absolutely sucks.

You can have the machine with the greatest workflow in the land. If the memory and cpu are volatile then that really doesn’t matter.
