TB303 patterns to be created on A4

Hi Guys!

On this website there are numerous famous TB303 patterns I would like to recreate on A4, just for exercise.

BUT

How would you translate those grids info on our A4’s parameters?

Thanks a lot for any suggestions…even not precise, I appreciate intuition a lot!
[ something I’m obviously missing this time… :disappointed: ]

Note: Note
Up: Octave up
Down: Octave down
Accent: Accent
Slide: Slide

that was quite obvious,I am more curious Time and its two dot types and the line that could be silence=no note
Full would be 1/16th
and Empty some less?
And the “C” with an apostroph ’ ?

Any of you have tried these on A4?

Just skip the TIME param? It’s not used on the TB-3 or the x0xb0x – only on the original 303.

I THOUGHT c’ would be an octave up… but then why wouldn’t it be in UP? Maybe 2 octs?

ahahahahah…what I tried so far really doesn’t sound anything close to the original…(not speaking about sound)

tried for like 10 mins, then I thought (yet again) — I am too unmusical for recreating that shit … sigh … still love to have found this very epic, naajnajaajnaannajaa pattern !

Have used this website for patterns on both xox and tb3.
Tb3 takes a lot more work to get right. Xox kicks arse.
Never tried with the A4 but reckon i might have a crack soon.
I think the main things are accents and slides and “accented slides” but, you are talking more about actual notes…
Maybe note lengths are the key?
Hmmmm…

C’ = C sharp maybe?

The slide parameter on the 303 is different than most other synths, since on the 303, you need to place the slide on the preceding note, on the A4, you need to place your slide on the note you want to slide to. You also need to adjust the Accent on the A4, since you can have it at differing values.

When looking at the 303 patterns on the website, you see a black dot, and a circle. These are your Note On and Sustain options. The A4 doesn’t have a “sustain note” option, so you need to input 2 of the same note, and tie them together with the slide.

Black Dot = Note On
Circle = Sustained Note

This might add to your confusion.
