[SYS_cdx] vol.2 SoundPack for Digitone OG & II

Nice! Thank you.

One more tidbit that came from playing with your sounds.

On the DN2 we have a lot of noise sources, for example, the WaveTone engine gives us a noise generator with filter, envelope and various tuning / characteristics of noise.

When I wanted noise, I would just go the easy route and use a noise source.

But all the noise sources in your patches are FM based, this sounds chaotic to our ears, and can replicate noise, but you can also explore all the thresholds as you move from harmony, to dissonance, to chaos, to noise.

It really makes me appreciate pure FM synthesis more. I’m looking forward to having some free time to study on this a bit

Hi there! Which of the two folders has the presets with the octave preview set up? I just purchased the preset pack and have downloaded both.

Thanks!

EDIT: I can’t find the manual in either of the folders… maybe I’m missing something?

Hey there! I fixed the issue. Could you please download again? The manual it isn’t in the folder. Is a separate file you need to download. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks man!

Ip.s if you have both zip folders, the new one is the sys_cdx 88 Kb.

Oh, thanks!! I’ll just download it again and reinstall them, no prob. The presets sound AMAZING, by the way. I’m going to have some serious fun

Im happy to share the SYS_CDX_2 : the extension of Supercodex SoundPack.

After the success of the first SYS_CDX toolkit—which focused on the microscopic, 1-bit Dataplex aesthetics of Ryoji Ikeda and early Alva Noto—it is time to evolve.

Welcome to SYS_CDX_02: MATERIAL_FORENSICS.

If the first pack was a digital microscope, focused on clicks, needles, kicks and noise, this one is all about the texture and the environment, inspired by Alva Noto and Ben Frost ‘s massive drone sounds.

If the first one was about data, this one is about the physical environment where the data exists.

What is it?

A 128-patch Clinical Toolkit for the Elektron Digitone I and II. It bridges the gap between Pure Signaland Physical Matter. Inside, you’ll find everything from sub-atomic clicks to massive drones and heavy structural resonances.

Beyond the Grid

While the DNA is rooted in minimal glitch, MATERIAL_FORENSICS was engineered to be phase-shifting. It is a chameleonic collection designed also for:

  • Drone & Ambient: Massive, breathing Archetype environments that evolve over minutes.
  • Electroacoustic Composition: Synthetic textures that mimic different materials.
  • Video Game Sound Design: Unstable UI clicks, ozone atmospheres, and biological life-support hums.
  • Cinematic Scoring: High-tension nuclear leads and gravitational pulses for the deep cold of sci-fi.

Technical Specification

30 impulses- particles : kicks, snares, HH, Perc.

34 textures

23 atmospheres

17 pads

9 leads

15 glitch

Comes with a small pdf patch list with descriptions and tips. Also some ideas for performance and layering techniques to achieve massive sounds.

If you liked the first one, you will love that one!

I just downloaded the pack and man, it’s like being dropped right into Tarkovsky’s Solaris. You now have a whole bank of my DN2! Thanks, great job!

Amazing work; both the sound design and the accompanying PDF are excellent!
I’m a big fan of the Raster Noton and similar aesthetics, but when I make music inspired by artists from that label, I usually like to make it a bit less cold and formulaic. I might start from that aesthetic, but I usually (hopefully tho) end up somewhere in my own world, although sometimes I stay in their lane, bc why not.
These packs will help me tremendously and will definitely save me a lot of time, which I have very little of lately.
Big thanks!

Thank you mate!
I hope this material is an inspiration for you to make your music. The patches are very tweakable and invite you to sculpt your own sound. It’s i easy to make so many variations and go further.
I’m inspired by these artists and specific albums from Raster but it isn’t meant to be only for that aesthetic. I didn’t copy any sounds. I found a methodology of work and tried to understand the logic behind that sounds. You can do from idm to ambient things, from noise to drone.
Now I’m working for the last part of this collection and will be about pads and less noisy stuff. The inspiration will be from the latest Xerox album that is more melodic, orchestral with use of strings. The idea is to follow the Xerox concept and make a copy of a copy of a copy of a string! This will be a free update .
Enjoy your music!
