No not at all - the UI is completely different, its another type of world. I dig the pyramid functions, but its very far away from "hands on". Its much more cerebral, algorithmic, math--function based way of working. Deluge is more like an evolution of the x0x style into a new generation. The monome got there first, but like all first steps it was clunky, hard to use and basically just a proof of concept.
The deluge is like having a pixel grid made from buttons that you can zoom and scale in whichever direction - and then on top of that there are many logical ways of interacting with the grid-based functions and so on. Yes, at the most basic level its a mature fruition of the monome concept, but I have not seen it done like this before... and I "get it" completely and its exactly what Im looking for.
With that being said, Id consider what Im looking for to be fairly niche - so Im not sure other people are seeing the same thing here, or even give a shit about such things. I cant blame them, either. See, Im at the point where workflow is GOD - workflow is the #1 priority for me, above all else... above sound quality, above options, above anything. And then you have to understand that what works best is going to be different for everyone.
