That was what I thought it was, but for some reason isn’t working.
Edit: Forgot to create the audio clip first, obviously working now, thanks again.

I’m hoping for a new overlay which includes all the new community stuff!
The community additions have been wonderful, for sure.
However, I do feel that there is a limit to how much can be added and keep it usable.
Where is the limit? Who will agree on it?
Once we say, it’s done now, we can get that smegging overlay!
Maybe an official midi controller which sits flush with the deluge?
Does this actually set each one as an audio clip, or do you need to set something else up first?
Just need to setup the column as an audio instrument (eg create one audio clip at the top) and then every new clip you create in that column will be an audio clip
Fully made on the deluge without any post fx. Sorry for the compression of the video.
And that’s LEARN + CLIP, right?
Is there a setting that that turns monitoring off when the recorded loop starts playing, for when recording loops out of synth sequences live?
Yea learn + clip
Not that I’m aware of
In this case it’s probably only useful for stuff like vocals or guitar at the moment when you can just stop singing/playing when the loop starts playing back. For recording loops from other synths/sequencers you really need a way to easily switch/crossfade from the audio source to the recorded loop as you will end up with both playing back at the same time.
You could also just stop the other device / turn down volume / filter out the sound, or if you’re using a mixer do it on the mixer.
Sounds overlapping doesn’t always sound bad either.
Yeah, can do, but it’s not your typical looping experience that’s all I mean.
Nice,I like the sound of this.Actually goes with the visuals )
I’m not sure, typically on a looper like the rc505, monitoring is always on (you hear what’s coming into the device), and I’ve seen so many performances where what’s coming in also goes out. In live improv, usually the audience hears you try figure out sounds live and then you loop it in and then switch to another instrument to loop in and so forth. You’re usually in control of the sound you’re sending into the looper. If I was recording an external arp sequence for example, I would loop it in and then stop the external arp sequence.
But yea multiple use cases. I know on the rc505 you can also stop sound coming in from going out so that you only hear externally once you’ve looped it.
I personally wouldn’t want monitoring to just shut off because I’d want to always hear what my external instruments are sending so I can prep for the next loop I want to record.
For that you would need to be able to monitor separately to the main outs. Would it be possible on the deluge to separate the headphone and main outs, so you can monitor the audio input while the crowd listen to the main output?
No deluge cannot do that, they are both connected physically in the hardware
On the Pioneer Toraiz SP-16, if I remember correctly, you can assign the audio input to one pad/track, then record audio from this track into the other pads/tracks. This means you can mute the audio input by tapping its pad, and if you tap both pads together then you could mute the input as the recorded loop started for transitioning from the audio input into the recorded loop. Would something like this be possible? (not sure how well I explained that)
I’ve got pages of notes on recording/looping with the Deluge but ended up giving up on it. This new Grid View method is great. So much easier!
If you mute the track in arranger it will only monitor while there’s an active empty audio clip in the session view
That should do what you want
