I’ll certainly be there on Friday afternoon and the whole Saturday with DNII, DTII, M8:2 and the Labyrinth…
Who’s coming?
Some things to look forward to at SFF :
Kaona has three new modules since last year.
Voltator – Four channels with transposition, addition, subtraction and other manipulation plus voltmeter.
Joey – An event generator for random, fractal and Euclidean gates.
Sisyphus – A stereo granular filter, with Kaona’s homebrewed combination of low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, peak, comb, Karplus-Strong, and ladder, which can morph with preset patterns, and a deep interface.
You may compare this to the Klavis Grainity ( post ).
Last year Kaona showed their crazy Zazou module ( post ).

Also at the show again this year will be Velours who now have ( or should have ) their controller Karl in production. This could be considered as alternative for the MP Midi ( thread ) and even the mighty Roto Control from Melbourne Instruments ( thread )
We may alao get a look at their keyboard controller product Nora. ( Please don’t flame me, i am just reporting this. )

ADDED :
Less than three weeks to the show now.
Expect to see a few new modules from Klavis. That should be interesting.
AND :
The ALT from Cyma Forma ( thread ) will arrive in its final form, with some likely dramatic demonstrations and performances, plus a video, as they get ready to ship this synth later this year.

Less than a week to the show now.
NRSynth will be showing their Solo, a handbuilt recreation of the Oberheim SEM.
They showed a prototype of this synth last year, but now it is for sale.
I also see that several companies have virtual software synths that they are showing.

ADDED :
This looks interesting. The Baloran BumBleBee, a two hand multi-dimensional sensor, with CV, MIDI, and audio, plus a recorder, sequencer, and other features, for Eurorack. Two modules.
This should generate some attention at the show.
The BumbleBee looks like a beast, slightly overkill for using it a simple MIDI controller
Are some people coming tomorrow?
I’ll be in tourist mode, I think…
I have been presenting the DNII for a day and half, my back can’t take it anymore ^^
If I had a dozen I would have sold them all!
I’m sad to not be able to witness this! Is it not covered somewhere on youtube?
I don’t think so.
Too far, sadly, though I’d like to visit Nantes one day.
I see this is not your first Synthfest France
Like last year SynthAnatomy seems to be a main source of videos, and it takes a little while for them to get everything ready.
First up Cyma Forma ALT with new developments on their interesting synth.
SynthAnatomy article with details on the changes.
Deliveries are now set to late summer.

Tchu put up a SFF performance with Fred’s Lab Manatee. ( post )
v00d00ppl put up a video with Kiviak showing their new AI sample generating service for the WoFI ( post ).

Bjooks on-line and Bjooks Magazine
good show! @LyingDalai
Ah! Thanks.
Can’t help but thinking I was actually way too fast, though. I had prepared a few patterns but the intervention was improvised… I’ll prepare better next time!
Might do a masterclass next year.
I have showed the box to dozens of people, sharing my love for this synth, bringing stars in the eyes of many!
The reason this hasn’t been announced is because it is not a product, only a experimental study that may or may not become a product. Kodamo did though take things far enough to give it a name – Kora Expander, put it in a case, and display it at a show to get feedback, though they resisted it being demoed, they did finally acquiese.
What got presented is a mixture of PCM multi-samples, FM, and bitmask synthesis. Not sure if these pieces can be combined or are parts of discrete engines. Here’s a chance to listen, maybe you can hear that.
There is very little more information, but here is a small article in SynthAnatomy :
I’ve been waiting for this video. And i am not disappointed.
I like the specific sorts of things this system is capable of, it seems to have its own way of working but i like that. For instance having specific different arpeggios on different levels. The distance of sensing looks maybe about three feet, but that’s acceptable.
Having all the parts together, the CV, the MIDI, the wavetable synth, and the sequencer is nice too, though a version with less would work for me too.

Piano de Voyage
Transportable keyboard with up to 88 keys, that breaks down into sections. Does have built in sound module with over 100 sounds. Headphone output. Can be configured with 88, 73, 64, 49 or 40 keys. They are working on a hammer action version.
Would wonder if a 112 key version might be possible ?
