My live setup always has an Octatrack and I add 1 or 2 of the following in my arsenal depending on the show: Digitone, Digitakt, Yamaha FB-01 (using Octatrack’s arpeggiator), Volca Sample, and iPad. I’m GASing for one more kick @ss synth / sound module to add and keep it as a more regular thing with the Octatrack. Portability and size are important. I don’t need anythin* with CV or modular interfacing. I try to buy everything used. So far I have my sights on the following:
- Waldorf Pulse 2 (about $450 used)
- Waldorf Blofeld (desktop version $300-400 used)
- Moog Slim Fatty ($400-500 used)
- Modal CRAFTsynth 2.0 (only $140 including tax during Black Friday)
- Roland SE-02 (about $300 used)
Any others you’d recommend instead? I’d like something unique and different than the sounds I currently have. My budget is USD $500 max but ideally want to spend much less. Thanks.
