So, if I have a saved pattern and I change one of the synth engines on a track and then just switch the Syntakt off without saving anything, surely when I power it up again, the original synth engine (the one it was last saved with) should be then one thats loaded with the pattern right?
That’s not whats happening for me. If I change a synth engine, that change is seemingly ‘baked in’ and will remain regardless of whether I have saved the pattern or not.
Is this normal behaviour? Seems odd to me…
Yes, that’s how the Syntakt works. If you‘d like to go back to the saved state, just press Func-No or reload the project without new saving, but only if you previously saved the project, otherwise you lose data. I would sometimes prefer less automatic „baking in“, but with this behavior in combination with pattern and project reloading you have a lot of possibilities.
The usual way is to press Func-Yes or project save when you have a state you‘d like to jump back to, tweak and save again or jump back as needed.
Thanks for the explanation. It’s slightly annoying cos I changed an engine, didn’t like the change so powered off thinking that the original engine will be loaded with the original save from a few days ago but alas it was not. Oh well, I now know!
Cheers
Nope. It will boot up in the exact same state as you powered it off.
