I literally installed the exact same skin on my Syntakt last night. I’m happy with it, although I wish I could replace my buttons with light grey ones, like the pads on the MPC 2000XL.

I really dig being able to actually see the buttons, the contrast pop is so much easier on the eyes

I’m a huge fan of his skins, I have the Sp-303 one on both my MPC and 404 MKII.

Awesome. Are there DN and DT2 ones yet?

Edit: checked the link and they have DN ones, no DT2 that I can tell.

I’ve thought about it, although I don’t know if I’d want to pay more than $30, and I assume it would cost a lot more than that… actually, does anyone know how much replacement buttons costs?

we finna see :money_with_wings:

I like the skin BUT it is an insulation layer that covers a considerable portion of ST’s surface. Particularly the top where most heat comes up is covered.

So the already relatively warm ST will become hotter.

the bottom does get warm but this skin doesn’t cover up any holes, there’s no air restriction top or back, just an additional layer. idk if it’s cause the knobs and buttons but the top of mine doesn’t get warm even to notice, just the bottom (mostly playing with it on lap)

I’ve always found this a huge flaw in the all black designs. UI clarity. I prefer the lighter versions of OT and analogs. And MD/MM for that matter.

I really think it’s the opposite of design flaw, the elektron sequencer and workflow is so memory based, completely non-visual to a fault, removing all contrast from the physical interface I think was just the next logical step towards UI/UX zen, one step right before removing the gd labels from the buttons LOL. too bad my brain doesn’t work like that, I can’t have the machine disappear, I’m trying to use the machine so I can disappear into it. maybe you’re supposed to be having always your eyes closed. or lights turned off.

I hate the MPC Live II standard black also, bleh. if they didn’t make the retro color scheme I don’t think I could hardly use it.

mpc liveII retro is a thing of beauty

elektron machine use color coded parameters labels, this thing really destroy those carefully designed systems.

Crazy how akai would choose to stop making that one in particular, I think it was my favorite of them all… the SE is cool but there is something about the live 2 retro…lol

yea its magic

the syntakt looks so much more inviting with this skin OP. really damn nice design. makes me want a syntakt again

this skin literally adds exactly 2 colors cream+mint to the color scheme, to border the primary input devices and machine control pages. factory color scheme is only 3 colors, black/red/white, and the red/white is only used for text, there’s no visual control category, just one big black lump. looks spooky tho
