Syntakt screen issues

it’s already in the box ready to come back , can i check on the box ?
Serial beging by : A3E23

For 2023 W43, my serial number starts with A3E2343.
So 23 may correspond to the year and 43 to the week of build.

Canada

Serial number starts as well A3E2343…

The same. A3E2342. Syntakt was bought in Canada.

Mine is week 50. Made in Poland. Letter “C” in the lower left of the screen. Started happening after ~3weeks of use.

@deltap,
The A3E2343 serial corresponds to your new Syntakt ?
If so :

  • what is the location of build (e.g Poland) ?
  • do you also have the same screen issue ?

The letter C is not related with the build location or date.
It seems to be software related (probably the bootloader version). See the topic on the subject.

My Syntakt is also made in Poland but from week 43.
I’ve owned it since the beginning of December but I don’t use it daily or intensely. I don’t have the screen issue for the moment.

So 2023 Week 42.
What is the location of build ?

Poland.

Update: Just got the new screen from Elektron. Everything works fine! :grinning:

1 .Yes Poland
2. Yes A3E2343 is my new one . Old one was most likely the same batch. I am giving him 3-4 weeks. Looks like it if survives that period it might be ok

So your new Syntakt is from the same batch as mine (Poland 2023W43)
Hopefully, you won’t have the issue.

Poland 2023W42 (reported by helljump) and 2023W50 (reported by kostabanderas) seem to be affected by the issue.

Mine is Poland 2341 and affected.

Anybody got a replacement and all good ? or same surpises on repalcement as well ( i noticed one guy in that case)

I wrote twice to elektron’s support last week without success. They keep silence.

Guyz have you noticed a specific use / scenraio that accelerate the fact that this issue gets on , like a long period of time unit ON but not used , or temperature specificity ect … ?
I think i’m gonna order a new one but i don’t wanna wait like a hammer up my head , i wanna know from the earlier as possible if it’s ok , or i send it back again…

It looks like that replacement syntakt I got a week ago does not heat up as much as the faulty one.
So you might conclude that this massive screen failure was due to some kind of thermal components overheating. Time will tell

Yah. check the temperature of your unit. The new one I have heats up roughly to 25 deg C. The old one I had was heating up to roughly 40 ded C

I don’t think the temperature will play a role here , oled screen can handle high temps …i do think it’s the opposit , i wonder if the screens hasn’t been stored in cold place in poland where no heat was applied (energy gain or some ) since it’s seems spread from Oct to now , doesn’t seems like a batch unless they order screens for the whole year ? i don’t know , seeing the serials or problematic units it spread .

Sent mine back to thoman, wanted to deal with elektron witch replied to my support answer but thoman said i would rather deal with them (thoman) , but to be ho,est i’m quite sure the unit will exhibit the same bs since i see people having ordered theres from thoman recenytly haivng the same issue , i doubt actual ones at thoman are 2024 w1-w5

We can only speculate. There may be numerous reasons for screen failure. It could be some driving elements, different component suppliers, etc. We do not know the details. That might be only known by the manufacturer, and we can only hope they would resolve the issue quickly for the benefit of as all.
