This was kind of a wild ride. I “remixed” an old track and replaced all sounds with SY Toy. 170 bpm, lots of FX track and effects filtering. This could do with better mixing and some compression.

Moving more slowly here with some melodies and drums.

Definitely a nice track!

Sounds nicely mixed, but I know what you mean about better mixing tools and compression in ST. The filter base width tools are heavy handed for in-box mixing, and then adjusting per pattern is interesting.

The second one has very neat perx sounds. One that sounds like a short “rainstick”, that one dope man! SY Toy has a nice, almost acoustic side to the transients

Some excellent stuff in this thread. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by some of the kick sounds that people have been able to coax out of the SY Toy. I just got my ST back from my mate who had it on load for almost a year (so he tells me) and so looking forward to having a go with Toy… I’ll be honest I hadn’t paid too much attention to it before but lots of inspiration here!!

Nice! I like the snappiness of the first track. Lots of short sounds with a lot definition :slight_smile:

Second one: I really like the beginning with the ‘shimmery waterfall’ sound :smiley:

This 3rd part of the first piece is very cool, I hear more of the weird sounds there, and less hi-hat action. The in and out of the FX action is also very powerful

Another Toyverk. After doing all the percussion and dark drone stuff I wanted to make something a bit more softer and beautiful :heartpulse: Turns out, SY TOY can do that as well :stuck_out_tongue: (also, spot the micro fade because Overbridge glitched and I couldn’t be bothered recording it again…)

I’m not really feeling the stuff I come with on SY Toy. Feels like there’s a potential I’m unable to tap, and resort to my “standard techniques” for these three, and maybe not playing so much on the idiosyncrasies of the Toy. Lots of FX track filtering in these.

A blippy thing in minor @ 160 bpm

A dusty sentimental riff @ 116 bpm

Waves of murky water @170bpm

@Oxenholme great stuff, I recently listened to your syntakt drops as well, for me, it’s your SSL entries I relate more to, maybe it’s the limitations.
