Damn that’s heavy
Awesome work!
That’s my mode of operation as well. I’ve been working on and off on a new track on the Digitone for a few weeks now but I’ve put this little thing together in an hour or so and it’s probably already better than the other project ![]()
I didn’t really use the FX channel. I think just a bit sidechaining and a bit of distortion on a few tracks. I’ve played around with filter tracking which helps to get some tonal sounds out of it. And I’ve set the bpm very high, the ratcheting of the machine can get very fast but sadly not fast enough for a steady sound.
This one’s dope! Never would have guessed the clap machines could sound like this
I am starting to be afraid that when Elektron looked at all the Great Syntakt Science threads and thought “The Syntakt is already perfect — why improve it?” ![]()
Well, there are still some bugs…
@mishpult
This one have move the walls in my house…
Real heavy one!
Ooh I like that! It’s got some croaky-ness to it. Way more clean tones and solid kicks than I had.
I hope that’s not the case, but it sure quenches a lot of lust for other gear.
Nice work @dr_laemmerbein and @Oxenholme !
Thanks @mishpult for the kick description, it certainly increased the weight ![]()
Here’s a classic electro beat with a solid kick and a 303 style riff.
Haha, I hope not! I hope it’s the opposite - that we’re creating more attention to the Syntakt, generating more sales and a prolonged life - including future updates - for the ST ![]()
Thanks @user831299695 @jm2c @Nils
I never use clap, let alone to make a beat out of it, SSL has completely changed my mind about this one, it´s really crazy how it sounds. I´m now thinking what would happen with ramp lfo on the SPCR while in ratcheting mode for some crazy risers… similar to what @Oxenholme did with his single track one (love this one) great stuff also @PentalagusMusic, @dr_laemmerbein. I was wathcing some machinedrum and ST vids on YT and was wondering where are all those Syntakt users that have such amazing music on there? Like @substan (if that´s you) ![]()
I quite like this machine. As a true clap sound, I think it has a bit too much body and sounds a bit muddy, hard to put into words… I wish each machine had another page of parameters ![]()
It’s funny that I randomly chose CP Vintage for this lab on the impression that it’s one of most limited machines in the ST, and look how busy it’s keeping us ![]()
I did try to make something with CY Alloy and that one is a lot harder ![]()
Absolutely! That one is more limited, and very specific with regards to frequency content.
yeah CY Alloy is highpassed at the sound generator level, making it much less malleable than most other machines
Not the easiest one, but still fun to explore some of it’s possibllities.
8 tracks of CP Vintage, 1 pattern.
Same pattern after some ctrl-all and a few extra tweaks.
I really like the 2nd, ctrl-all, version. Nice tracks!
Here’s a 4am jam. Insomnia can be fun sometimes.
all 8 tracks used.
Made use of the racheting on one of the sounds.
10 patterns total, but the recording is just barely over a minute.
Thank you!
I also think the 2nd one is the better version, but I’ve spend quite some time on the 1st on and just a few minutes on the 2nd., that’s why I decided to share both.
