I have a problem with my Elektron Syntakt MIDI syncing. It has problems when it is slave with the MPC Live II.
My MPC Live II is the master and sends MIDI out to Ableton, my Waldorf Iridium and Elektron Syntakt. These other devices work properly in sync.
The problem
- Only syncs when I press stop twice on MPC and then press Play/Start, not Play.
- Same with Laptop > USB MIDI > Syntakt = When I press stop twice in Ableton, cursor in Ableton goes to start of track and sync works. But when I put the cursor somewhere in the track, even after I press stop twice, it doesn’t sync.
USB MIDI cable might not be good but for MPC to Syntakt I’m just using DIN5 cable.

Things tried to isolate the problem:
- Syntakt > ESI MIDI cable > Laptop = doesn’t sync.
- Syntakt > ESI MIDI cable > MPC = doesn’t sync.
- Syntakt > MIDI Cable > MPC = works.
- MPC > MIDI Cable > Syntakt = only syncs when I press stop twice on MPC and then Play/Start, not Play.
- Laptop > USB > Syntakt = When I press stop twice, cursor goes to 0 and sync works. But when I put the cursor somewhere in the track, even after i press stop twice, it doesn’t sync.
