Syntakt knobs misbehaving after automating with Logic for ipad

Hi guys. I’ve been attempting to capture automation from syntakt on my ipad and finally found a straightforward way to do it with Logic Pro. But I’ve run into an issue where whatever parameter I automation record gets “sticky” when I try to change it on Syntakt.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Here’s a video showing the issue. Basically it sticks if I turn the knob slowly and only changes if I turn it a bit faster.

The transport isn’t even playing so it shouldn’t be sending any automation. And I placed the playhead off of the midi clip in case it’s latching to whatever automation value is stored in it. I’ve even set automation to “off” in the midi clip and it’s still doing it. If I want to rerecord an automation take it makes it impossible to change the parameter smoothly.

I have been wrong before but I think its a bug i found last year. Same behaviour. Related to them f$&king up midi implementation on ST.

Wierd. This doesn’t happen with Ableton but I guess it’s because it’s automating via overbridge

In my case it turned up trying to control ST from Octatrack using bi-directional midi.

I havent tried sequencing/automating ST from a daw except with Overbridge but I would assume a similar issue would present if using it just over usb audio/midi or with in/out din connections. I guess thats how its presenting now with you using logic on ipad.

Please make a support ticket. Its crazy how badly they messed this implementation up and havent fixed it a year later(considering they take august off work they wont do anything about it until september).

I’ve tried sending them 3 other support tickets about various other issues and they haven’t responded to a single one. It’s been almost 2 months. I keep getting an automated reply to set my country of residence when it’s not even listed in the drop-down menu. I’ve set it to “rest of the world” yet I keep getting this automated reply whenever I open a support ticket. So it’s pretty much futile trying to send them any other ones :frowning:

Yeah I’ve had similar experiences when making support tickets

Try sending your support ticket as an email to usercare@elektron.se

I’ve had a lot more luck with getting an eventual reply from them this way. But again, dont expect much til september. They know about this bug but it doesnt effect all users so they might just try to ignore it if no one else complains which is poor form imo.
