Does anyone have any solid numbers how well the syntakt is doing in sales compared to digitakt and digitone lineups?
Plot twist - they will release Rym Mk3 with added digital machines and other goodies and discontinue Syntakt for good.
Ahah, I never said that the ST II will never happen, but one thing is certain: it wonāt be anytime soon. We also have to consider the lifespan of previous products, which have been supported for many years. These are the only tangible facts we can rely on at the moment, in my opinion. I hope the next update will be a major improvement, proving that the ST II isnāt coming anytime soon

Did DT2 and DN2 see trademark filings?
I think for appending a āIIā to the product name perhaps itās not required ?
Itās really the only good reason Iād want a Syntakt II. Iām really happy with what it can do now and appreciate that Elektron are still updating its OS to bring it a bit closer to the IIās. But thereās some differences that are confusing for muscle memory, especially the different placements of mute mode. And I think muscle memory is quite important for having fun with Elektrons. Having the added trig conditions, FX and (performance) kits would also be neat.
I wouldnāt say thatās good enough a reason for Elektron to release an updated Syntakt and for me to buy it. If they decided to give it more analog voices that can be used on trigs 13-16 and throw in an analog compressor on top, that would be really tempting. But I doubt they could fit these in the box without the Syntakt exploding from heat. Maybe the Tonverk case could host these?

I havenāt studied law in any way, but yeah, it seems in some cases you donāt have to do it from scratch, as you do often already enjoy some protection from the previous trademark, unless the successor is significantly different. But this obviously varies between legal systems as well.
Yes, itās not necessary. You can see that the trademark filings for the DT and DN were updated a few months before their release

Syntakt 2 is inevitable.
And is going to be a terrific machine:
8 Analog + 8 Digital/or/Sample based machines + Analog FX track
plus all other 2 regulars:
-comb, selective ctrlALL, compressor, etcā¦

Itās more likely that ST successor will likely come in the Tonverk format to accommodate 8 analog tracks without too many technical limitations.

I noticed the Syntakt is on sale for $250 off at Sweetwater.
Does anyone remember a year ago, before the DT2 and DN2 came out were retailers blowing out inventory on sale?
Iām thinking of getting one, but if theyāre getting ready to release the next version, Iām gonna not spend over $1000 on it now and I will wait. If this is how they usually do releases and blow out old inventory then Iām guessing thatās whatās happening, but maybe itās just a sale.
Wasnt the last definitive statement from Elektron that the update proofed that they see the DN2, DT2 and ST on par as their latest digis which will have a lot of support for a long time?!
