Not even the system at Sweetwater.

Right in time for my Birthday!

If the sound is good, this might be my first behringer since the 19inch rack compressor i bought 15 years ago.

Obviously, we all have different presences, but if the faders are like what’s found on bARP, then I think I prefer it. Less ground to cover with one hand and at least on bARP, they slide nicely and consistently.

Here’s the OG

Imagine if they had me at the alpha testing stage and I suggested CV control over the oscillator mode, they’d have a monster IDM machine on their hands now.

There is the MSW SY0.5 for that  it is a fair bit more expensive though esp if you want two voices.

Edit: Or the Taktaktak Drumbo!

Hmm yeah, it doesn’t seem like there is so much possibilities for external CV control, and not via MIDI either?

from the manual regarding MIDI:

MIDI OPERATION
The SY-1 can be used in one of two MIDI modes, which are selected using the SynthTribe app over USB. The selected mode will be
remembered when the SY-1 is powered down, until it is changed by the app.

MODE 1 – uses only the MIDI channel set by the dipswitch 43. Channel 1 is triggered by MIDI note 36, and channel 2 by MIDI note 38.
There is no MIDI pitch control, so pitch will only be determined by the panel control settings. Channel 1 decay can be adjusted using MIDI
CC 80, and channel 2 using MIDI CC 81. For best results set the top panel controls 15 and 29 to their midway points.
Mode 1 can also be entered by pressing and holding the CH 1 TRIG button while powering up.

MODE 2 – Channel 1 will respond to MIDI messages on the channel selected by the dipswitch 43, while Channel 2 will respond to the next
MIDI channel up (note – if the dipswitch is set to 16 then Channel 2 will respond to MIDI channel 15, not MIDI channel 1). The pitch of each
channel can be controlled using MIDI notes 21 to 84, with decay set as in Mode 1. Notes that are out of range will sound as the lowest and
highest of the useable range.
Mode 2 can also be entered by pressing and holding the CH 2 TRIG button while powering up.

Cool, yeah it seems pretty basic but I’m probably not the target. And it might be fun to play still

Great price for a cool sounding device to record percussion loops into my Digitakt 2, hope Elektron hurry up with a mono record update I dislike recording percussion in stereo.

Available for preorder (in several months, though):

Not sure what’s going on with deliveries but supposedly Alto Music has them available and can be shipped to me by Thursday. Sweetwater is now expecting to get their shipment by October, which is strange as I thought they were super friends, or whatever they’re call8ng it, with B. Grabbed one from Alto, but had also pre-ordered from SW so we’ll see if the October date is because they soldout all their preorders and thats the resupply date. I’ll update ya’ll on the outcome.
Hopefully my dumbass didn’t just order two of these and both show up on Thursday.

Of all the Behringer synths that come to mind, the Syncussion is the one that you could probably make good use of two.

Indeed, but I’m attempting to become more responsible. We’ll see how long that holds up when I connect it to the ol’ drum sequencer. Right now, 50/50 either way.

Treated myself to the behringer syncussion! I had the Michigan synths work model and it was fantastic, but I sold it. I have the sy0.5 module as well, big fan.

So far this thing is fantastic! Absolutely worth the $199 asking price.

Good for you Double D! (just thinking it sounds like you’re doing well!)

Whole heartedly agree. Exceeded my expectations in terms of sound and build quality. Killer little drum/perc box. Was surprised how clear it can sound when programming melodic low end sounds too. It’s also really easy to go from booming bass to laser zap gun sounds, and everything in between. Banger of a job.

I was one of the first Sweetwater preorders and nothing from my guy there. Are you saying Sweetwater delivered already?

They’re in stock at Alto Music: Behringer SYNCUSSION SY-1 Classic Dual Analog Percussion Synthesizer – Alto Music
