Hi guys,
This might be a silly question, but I just got a TR-8 to go with my Digitakt and am having some trouble with a seemingly simple issue.
I connect the midi out from my digitakt to the midi in in my TR-8, now the problem is I want these two clocks to sync but can’t figure it out. When I hit play on my Digitakt I want my TR-8 to start playing in time. That’s it! Don’t need to control the TR-8 from the digitakt other than that.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

On the Digitakt you’ll want to go into the midi config sync menu and make sure clock send is checked…
Don’t know about the TR-8 but somewhere in there it should have a similar option to receive clock, transport, or both. You’ll want it set to receive clock and transport…
Clock keeps the timing and transport deals with start, stop, and continue. In the Digitakt the “send clock” setting actually enables both clock and transport, so that’s why there might be two things to set on the TR-8…

This is super helpful and I figured it was a config thing on the Digitakt side. I’ll take a look but think this should solve it. Thanks a ton @Open_Mike.
Edit: that worked like a charm. Thanks again!

I sync tr8 to OT, you can sequence from OT and operate the tr8 manually - this is good as you can set conditional trigs and micro timing on the OT plus twiddle with tr8. Gets you close to tr8s minus the samples which you can have on OT anyway.
