The Rytm can’t midi sequence any other gear. It can CV-sequence it to some extent, by using individual outs and trig machines. But it sure can clock it. Midi clock or DIN Sync for instruments with their own sequencer.
So - from what you’re stating above the Beatstep would be redundant.
Big thanks for clearing that up. At first I was thrown off by the terminology (clocking vs sequencing).
To clock Is it as simple as sending a midi cable from the MIDI out of the Rytm into the Qudra Thru and then into my other instruments? (and of course changing the global settings on the Rytm). I’d still like to use the BSP to sequence the Minitaur, will this also work?
I haven’t got the BSP myself, but from what I know, it has two “melodic” tracks for midi. Those can control your synths. I would recommend to check out this: https://www.arturia.com/beatstep-pro/details
Arturia has just released the other day a new OS with demanded improvements. You also can control gear via gate and CV outputs. There is a reason, why so many artists use this little box in a live set-up
Without knowing the workings of the Quadra Thru - yes, that’s how most midi boxes would handle it. But - you’re connections need to be Rytm OUT to Quadra IN and then from the Quadra THRU on to your synths.
Yes, well known place to look for timing performance, but AFAIK many people can’t percept jitter below 10 ms. Even the famous Roland TR-909 is worse then 1.2 - 1.7 ms.
Have we ever heard a drummer play at 1 ms precision?
But there is nothing wrong to consider not to use the Beatstep Pro as the master clock of a set-up. But it’s a very handy sequencer to control gear. Generally, I would always recommend to use the tightest clock we have.
