Hey guys. I first asked about how this is done, but i found out how to do it so i posted it below.
First post:
I have searched for this, but haven’t found anything concrete about it. Sorry if this question has been asked before.
Now i use the Rytm with ableton live 8.4 and overbridge and i really like how it works.
Then i thought. What if i use the rytm along with traktor. Could also be a fun way to juice up my djsets.
So i know how to sync it via midi, but will it be synced trough USB MIDI? That would make it possible for me to leave my huge sound card at home. Now i am using the allen & heath Xone:DB4 for the sound card for traktor. it does not have midi in or out.
So i actually found out how to do it really fast. i connect my rytm via usb. Open up overbridge, Then Traktor. Open preferences and go to controller manager. Add a generic midi and ONLY on the out-port choose analog rytm (elektron Midi). Go to midi clock and make sure the clock send is set to on. Now just press play on the midi clock panel shown on the second picture. Of course make sure the rytm is set to receive midi ONLY via usb.
This works very well so far, but messing around with loops in traktor or slicing can make it go out of sync, but then just press play/pause button on and off and its back on track. A little human feeling is just healthy in this synced up world
Have fun!
