Syncing A4MKII with eurorack

Hi everyone,

I have been looking for a way to sync sounds from my eurorack modules to my Analog Four MKII synth sounds.

In the eurorack, I have Make Noise Tempi controlling the tempos of my different modules, mostly drum sounds. I would like to sync sounds from my Analog Four on top of these sounds. I have tried different outputs from my Tempi to control the Analog Four with a midi adapter I have & the A4 set to recieve, but nothing seems to happen in the Analog Four… Not sure if Tempi is also the right kind of module to work here together with Analog Four…

Any ideas is this kind of tempo syncing from eurorack to Analog Four possible? I understand Analog Four can send cv to trigger eurorack, but what about the other way around?

Thank you all in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

You cannot sequence or synchronize the Analog Four from an external CV/Gate source. You can using MIDI.

You could try to use a CV Input to modulate volume to simulate the behaviour you are looking for.

That may be your best option.

Thank you for the welcoming words.

Yeah I have have been syncing the A4 with my old MPC2000 Midi and that has been working perfectly.

This is what I was also thinking, but could not find clear answers before. Just wanted to confirm, because I like really like the Tempi workflow and it has 6 clock outputs.

I guess I will now start looking the option of sending CV form A4, or could look into some eurorack midi module solution.

Setting the A4 as your main clock source is probably the best option. Configure one CV channel as Clock and thus, you won’t be using up your CV track.

I use the A4’s DIN Sync out to a Pamela’s New Workout module to keep my eurorack clocked with the A4. Before I had the PNW module I did use one of the A4’s CV outputs set to clock. It worked fine but I prefer to keep all 4 CV outs for CV/Gate duties.
