yeah you either need to feed it start/stop/clock via USB, or a midi/cv interface, or it’s the master. it’s cheap and super fun but it’s not the most versatile for working with other gear.

A CV LFO-out probably wouldn’t sync, right?
kenton pro solo mk3 is great but more than the cost of the sq-1. the cv.ocd should work but I don’t know it well enough to say. but with this method you’ll have to reset the sq-1 when you stop the clock and want to start from the first step again.
just get a Doepfer Dark Time?
