…it’s been brought to my attention that AR only seems to generate Midi clock from “Sync A” whereas Din Sync can be slaved on both Sync A & Sync B (tested with my 606). This seems like either a bug or an oversight that Sync B port doesn’t output Midi clock? Has this ever been brought up? If not maybe time to flag it…
hmmm…
in midi port config is thru port function set to “midi”???
or it may just be that the “thru” port cannot output clock
yes it’s set to midi and THRU/SYNC B can generate Din Sync clock so I don’t see why it wouldn’t also allow Midi clock… since both ports are sub-labelled Sync A & Sync B it would seem logical to be able to clock from both…no?
i don’t know the ins and outs honestly but… its a midi thru so it probably only output clock if the the rytm is being slaved (i.e. midi clock is coming into it)… it will “thru” the signal i bet
yes
.
no
this is not a bug or oversight tbh, it works exactly as it should and as per manual, just not as you might wish; that the two ports are independently configurable to alternatively be Din sync outs is neither here nor there - out of genuine interest, do you know of any gear with a conventional in out thru, where the thru can be set as a 2nd out ? (some devices with just 2 ports allow a thru/out selection) - the solution is for you to use the thru (if it has one) on the Out connected device or get a thru box - i don’t see this one changing, and i imagine that’d be the official line, no harm asking i suppose but it’s a lost cause imho
