Switching to per track scale mode

When I have a pattern with all tracks to 64 steps and some of them have sequences on them, I would like to switch to per track scale mode without loosing work. Right now, when I do this, all tracks get reset to 16 steps, and increasing them does not bring back the sequences. Any workaround for this?

i would like to see this fixed too.

If i am, otherwise, missing something…

+1 me too. This has bugged me for a while…

I don’t really understand why this is set up the way it currently is…

When I switch over to per track scale mode from having 64 steps on all tracks, all the tracks reset to 16 steps. I so much wish it would remember the settings I had before making the switch.

Or is there some workaround I haven’t found?

I think you may be missing something. Try this:

  • New Project
  • Func + Page to enter Scale Setup and set Steps to 64/64
  • Track 1, place a trig on Step 1,18,35,52 (for example)
  • Rec to come out of Record mode
  • Func + Bank to enter Pattern Settings, set to Per Track, Exit
  • Func + Page to enter Scale Setup, set Steps to 64/64 and set Master to 64

Now go back to Rec Trig mode and cycle through the pages to see Trigs on all four pages where you left them (rather than each page being duplicate of page 1 - which is what you may have expected).

I think the confusion occurs because the Master Length is set to 16 - so even if you change the Steps to 64, you hear the 1st bar repeating.

Obviously it’s still a pain to have to re-adjust every Tracks length after deciding to switch to Per Track Scale Mode.

What I don’t understand is why Per Track isn’t the default!

Yeah! !godamnit! Scale per track as default!!!

Thanks rikrak, that’s indeed what was happening. Yeah per track default would be good, and let the per track length follow the master length by default (per track initialized with master length or max length if the master is longer than 64)
