I’ve been avoiding distributors that charge a subscription for many years, but I’ve been burned enough with the ones that only charge a one-time fee that I might finally switch to a cheap sub like Symphonic for my next release.
$20/year is not bad if they have some basic modicum of support and won’t alter the deal a couple of years from now.
So I have tested support on Landr for the first time because I noticed that, on some non-priority platforms, my music was not eligible for allegedly containing AI-generated content, even though that’s not the case. I inquired how this could be flagged this way. Support has answered after a few days that they have corrected what seems to have been a falsely set AI flag on their side. So I can confirm that support exists and appears to be reactive.
I discovered the flag on a few minor platforms last week when I was checking on my distribution dashboard. In my inquiry I requested details on the origin of this flag. Please note that my EP is not on Spotify by choice due to the fact that I have read all kinds of nightmare stories.
