I have pretty good credit and got one for my BS2. Paid it off and got a Digitakt now.

If you don’t have good enough credit to get the SW card…man, I do not know about paying that much for a synth!!

With music gear, I don’t buy if I don’t have cash upfront. Helps with GAS and forces me to really consider if I need it or not. Dodged quite a few bullets, where it forces me to work with what I have to maximize my setup (which is rather limited at this time - in a good way).

at least half of my gear comes from the sweetwater card. the financing makes it doable, and it’s tempting to go in over your head. PayPal credit has also helped me a lot in the past.

be careful with credit.

I have one with a a decent limit. I always make sure I get one thing at a time that has the 0% interest available.

Paypal Credit is definitely a way to manage without layaway, but sometimes i do need to stop and purge my unused kit to catch up.

$4400 when you don’t have good credit, though?

Nononono.

store credit cards are weird sometimes. I remember being super bummed when I went to buy a riding lawnmower years ago because I wasn’t approved for one big box home repair store’s credit card. and I had a great credit score, high income to debt ratio, etc… even called my mom to complain that the company she worked for (who backed this particular store’s credit lines) sucked. she couldn’t do anything, but I had to vent. then I applied at another big box home repair store and got a credit card, no problem.

be careful with credit cards and gear acquisition, like everyone is saying. but also be aware that banks like people who get lines of credit and then pay them off over time. that means they make money off of you, so they like that. and your credit score goes up, and they increase your credit limits, etc. just don’t get too nuts.
