For $20 more you could get a one year subscription to all PA plugins plus own any three plugins afterwards. Personally, I’ve never spent more than $29 on their plugins (each) because of all their promotions and sales but not sure if Battalion would take a long time get below like $50 since it is a very premium product instead of just another PA compressor or reverb plugin.
I will look at it like this hahaha:).
And my oh my i cant even imagine my lack of production if i could try out every plugin???
EDITEDIT: i also got LION for free unexpectedly! We shall see what thats all about.
Lion is pretty sweet honestly. The modular nature gives it a leg up over most other soft synths I own and it sounds great.
Yesss @Lieder theres a lot of people liking LION it seems. I was much more excited once i heard the synth engines in battalion. I shall try it out tonight!
I would not have known i even got lion for free had i not been looking at other unfiltered audio plugins on pluginalliance…i was scrolling through and the buy button said “free”. So i would have never known otherwise!
Lion is definitely an underrated synth with some pretty unique things going on. It’s in with Propellerheads’ Europa and Newfangled Audio’s Generate in my “come up with a unique sound” folder. That, and Byome/Triad are the best UA plugs IMO (though I’ve not tried Battalion).
thanks for posting this, I have been wanting to dive deeper into bitwig and this upgrade was too good an opportunity
Enjoy! The modulation is so good compared to Live. Other stuff is a mixture of better and not as good for me, but it’s certainly an awesome tool to have in your arsenal even if you don’t use it full time.
i found multitrack audio editing/arranging/copy-paste-insert time - type functionality really cumbersome in bitwig. does a lot of things well but all the extra steps for audio editing were a deal breaker for me. it’s so very modular though and that’s a huge strength
Ah that’s a shame. Great feature of Live. I haven’t dived into that yet but I’m happy to have Bitwig just as a sonic playground/sample source for the price
UAD Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor for $49, awesome plugin awesome deal.
Crossposting from the MPC thread, MPC Mini D on sale for $29.99 on Audio Deluxe
Also on sale at UA for the same price, along with others for the same or less.
Ah must be a tax thing (German VAT), but it’s a few euros more expensive for me on the UAudio’s website. Singled out the EL8 Distressor because it’s particularly worth owning (I already do & own most of their plugs, paid 149€ on sale for it :))
Ah, right. Same in the US, didn’t realize it might be different elsewhere.
When they say M1 compatible for that one (Mini D), I assume they mean Rosetta?
No, it is M1 compatible I have it installed on my M2.
Arturia - MiniBrute V - bought for £49 (depending on what have recently bought from them etc).
Played with it for an hour and have to say its amazing. Loved the original and getting similar vibes. Had to have a break from the plugin to protect my years.

You use it on drums? I want something to process my Perkons that is similar to the UKG plugins. Id imagine this distressor with some saturation dialed in may really be the way.
def looking forward to test driving the demo.
I grabbed the demo straight away. It sounds very nice.
I’m generally not a fan of their emulations, the hardware copy interfaces are often awful to the point of being unusable and the sound is a bit of a mixed bag as well. I know it’s their “thing” but software interface design has moved on and some of their emulated stuff is just an absolute slog to use because of the interface. The individual synths are a bit overpriced too, but I suppose it’s no different from the NI Komplete model where they try to suck you into buying the bundle. I doubt many people will pay €199 for this but it doesn’t matter. It’s clearly working well for them!
I think this is actually much better suited to software in the sense that it’s a more simple interface with fewer controls, you can get moving with sound design very quickly. They bundle these same FX with every synth they do now but I’m fine with it, they sound good and they add loads of depth to what you can be achieved. I think this would be much less interesting without the FX.
€69 for me, I’m actually quite tempted as I like simple synths that are easy to program. I feel like you could cover a lot of ground with this.
I’d be interested to see Arturia do a new software synth of their own creation. Pigments is a smart bit of design and I wonder what else they might be able to come up with.
