I asked Nick on Reddit what is the difference between my 208C and this new compact synth. Here’s his response
« this one has an alien on it, for one
theres some overlap and some uniqueness. its a similar but different way of interacting with the complex oscillator/modulation oscillator pair. the way the cycler is used to contour notes and modulation is a departure from the pulser and envelope on the 208c. stereo fx, presets, immediacy, did i mention the alien?«

yeah my first thought was it’s a slimmed-down Easel that they added digital effects and an Ornament & Crime to 
looks really cool though. I’m glad Buchla is making new stuff and that it’ll be more accessible. interested to hear more demos.

Three independent freeze voices ( recycled from the disting NT ) each have their own gate input and toggle switch, and so can be triggered manually or by CVs from other modules. Each freeze voice allows multiple layers of overdubs too.
They also have another new module called the NTX-8CV.

This is like old elektron -quirky ad, old school interface. Of course I’d imagine old elektron gear was inspired a little by the Amiga so it’s cool to see it all come full circle. Nice work!
