This will be my 3rd Superbooth, attending Friday with 2 friends from Amsterdam. Superbooth is a great reason to be in Berlin in Spring for a couple of days. Last time I also went to the Synth museum near Kotti which I imagine is of interest to many a 'naut, last year they had extended opening hours during Superbooth.
Edit: oh and I forgot, I’m also going to Hunger To Create in Berghain on Thursday evening with live electronic music performances.
I second this question. I plan to finally go to SB for the first time this year and it would be great to meet some fellow 'nauts. In my case, Friday or Saturday would make the most sense for going to SB.
Looking forward to my second time at Superbooth, even made a cheeky Schwung shirt. Also just sold my XY in anticipation of making some ill advised financial decisions on the floor.
Oooh, Dinsync will showcase a new rack version of their 101 replica. I was already planning to hang out in the Acidbooth tent but this may mean I will never leave:
While Haken was at Synthfest France the new more affordable ( and portable ) Slim21 Continuum was reportedly unavailable to exhibit. Hopefully it is on the floor at SB.
Yup going for the first time. Got some other reasons to be in Berlin so good timing. I stuffed the words “techno and techno adjacent tourism … go!” into the meat end of an LLM sausage machine and it said:
Clubs
Berghain (obvs)
Tresor (obvs)
Sisyphos
About Blank
RSO Berlin
Record Shops
Hard Wax
OYE Records
Space Hall
Elevate
Experimental AV spaces

Haus det Kulturen der Welt HKW
Kraftwerk Berlin
Galleries
Hönig Galerie
Julia Stoschek Collection
Schinkel Pavillion

Civilist
I haven’t checked any of those (apart from the obvs) and they were spat out by a quasi-sentient brain-in-a-jar. Could be cold, hard facts. Could be hallucinatory word salad. Probably somewhere in between. So caveats apply and YMMV etc!
Auxy is at the show, and will be showing their interesting new keyboard synth, which they developed with help from Cuckoo.
ADDED ( A week before the show ) : The synth is named Svensson 49.
There isn’t a ton of technical details so far, but there are a couple of videos with Cuckoo performing on a physically obscured synth ( thread ). ( Post with video upthread from Tchu. )
These people are playing a dangerous game with all this. No synth (or product) can live up to the hype. It’s just a synth, there’s a ton of others, that one won’t be special or revolutionary. Maybe it’s just me yelling at clouds and getting tired of all the marketing/social media bullshit. But if you have a new gizmo, fine, show it and I will watch the video. All this just makes me absolutely uninterested.
Comment aimed at cuckoo and the manufacturer, not jukka of course.
Someone on Reddit is talking about some sort of Overbridge break out box-ish thing coming to Superbooth, but it’s probably just internet rumor mill doing its thing
I’d probably skip Space Hall, was a bit disappointing the last times I went. I’ve never been to Elevate, but it’s run by Cinthie, who is a great house DJ. You can check out the website (https://elevate.berlin) to get an idea of the stuff that she carries there. Hardwax (my most visited record shop by far) and Oye are both good. I’d also recommend Sound Metaphors as another personal favorite. audio-in has a great selection of used records, but the prices are quite high. black.round.twelve, KMA60 and Bikini Waxx (another store focussing entirely on used records) are also worth a visit.
