Super powerful Pedaltrain setup : )

I spend the last weeks putting together my ultimate portable Elektron setup and just HAD to share this with you  I think this can inspire some other users to put together their own setup in a similar way.

So this is how I set everything up:
I used a Pedaltrain Novo 24 SC

POWER
Everything is run on a Satechi 200W USB C 6 port charger:
https://satechi.net/products/6-port-gan-charger

I connected every device with Birdcord PD cables (https://www.songbirdfx.com/) and a 90° hooked USB cable (Server Busy) for the Keylab.

The Satechi is connected to a normal power supply (Brennenstuhl) so I can turn everything on and off with one button on top of the rack.

AUDIO
Audio flow: Digitone → Digitakt → Zoia
Audio cables from Rockboard: Rockboard Flat TRS Cable 60 cm BK – Thomann België

The Zoia is used as a mastering and FX unit. I use some light compression and saturation, EQ, some filters, delay and reverb and other creative FX (controlled with the knobs on the Keystep).

MIDI
I use the CME H4 MIDI WC (CME H4MIDI WC – Thomann België) as the master MIDI hub. The Keylab and Digitakt are connected to the MIDI inputs and the DIgitakt and Digitone are plugged into the MIDI outputs.

With the HxMIDI Tools software, I connected the Keylab to the MIDI input of the Digitakt (channel 11) and Digitone (channel 12). This way I can play both the Elektron Devices during a performance by changing my MIDI channel on the Keylab. The Digitakt is also connected to the Digitone so they run together when I press play on the Digitakt. The H4 automatically merges the MIDI channels, it’s really powerful.

The MIDI THRU port of the Digitone is connected to the Zoia so I can send the MIDI clock to the Delays and FX. The Keylab sends MIDI cc information with it’s knobs on Channel 13 via the same MIDI THRU port. That way, I can always control the FX on the Zoia (filters, reverb, …) no matter what MIDI channel the keys are on.

I bought the hooked MIDI cables on Amazon (Server Busy). I first made the mistake to buy the Rockboard MIDI cables but they’re not going down (the cable goes left or right so it would get in the way of every other output on the device) so I couldn’t use them.

Oh and I also raised the Keylab a bit so it would be on the same height as the Elektron boxes for better playability

I can’t believe how powerful this is in such a portable and compact setup!
Feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

Lovely.
Add a Zoom L-6 and you can even record everything that is going on while multitracking.

Awesome - cheers for adding all the names and links of the solutions you found. I’ve considered running everything on Birdcords. No ground loop/hum issues?

Nope nothing. No hum or any added noise.

Great layout and thanks for taking the time to write such a clear and detailed post.

With the (hopefully) upcoming iOs overbridge capability, this kind of setups would end up being supercharged by the addition of an iPad. A Digi or 2, a midi controller, an iPad and you can put out DAW/properstudio quality stuff with a pedalboard footprint

Are you using the Midas Hand patch for the end of chain on the zoia or your own patch?

Nice work!

My own patch. The Zoia is super handy to program, much easier than I anticipated
