Suggestions/help on OT/mixer setup

I just bought the octatrack and is really looking forward to let it be the brain of my set-up. But while hooking it up, and tidying up my set-up - I got thinking about to get most out of a octatrack & mixer set-up. As pictured this is my set-up - but how do I really set this up the best, or how would you set it up?

This is my current set-up (black cables running from mixer - sends or outputs)

And here’s a blank is you want to doodle your idea

I would probably have the A4’s audio coming into in the OT so you can record loops and transition or layer stuff. Having the cue send able to go into the blackhole would be a great idea. The Overdrive I’m not sure on, but maybe it would be cool to stick between the A4 and OT?

It’s worth mentioning that if you’re not using the headphone output you can use that as a send from the main/cue, and you can mix between the two quickly in the mix page. You’ll need to consider headphone vs line level gain staging issues of course, but I’ll say that I’ve been able to run a cable from the headphone output to an old Boss reverb and seems to work just fine.

Send the mixer’s ALT 3+4 to the Octatrack’s input, so you can resample anything by pressing the mute/alt3+4 button on its mixer channel.

The boss and the eventide pedals each get a (mono) fx send to their respective inputs. The boss comes back to the fx return, and if you want stereo for the Eventide, you’ll have to use one of the mixer channels as a return.

Everything else gets hooked up into the mixer’s inputs. The tape recorder uses the tape loop, the audio interface connects to the main out, and your speakers use the control-room out.

That way you can send anything to any effects, or to the Octatrack.
