Don’t need one but it looks like a fun little sampling box.
Unfortunately they created this terrible demo. ![]()

Interesting. Perhaps their take on an SP404? Hard to tell from the demo
Knowing them it will be fun and affordable, but I would feel like I was signing for a package every time I used that pen.
I’m curious what the second new piece they’re releasing in going to be.
This looks and sounds great, bravo Stylophone! Between this and the drone box they’ve been killing it lately. Not tried the filter box yet.
sounds like it. i modify vocals on the 404 and record into the digi2, so i’m thinking this might take over the 404’s role since you get the vocoding features as a ‘live’ effect (can’t use a current recorded loop to apply the vocoding effects)
Folk over at Gearslutz claim its only $50, surely not?
It will be in that ballpark.
I’m imagining four people on stage using these things only. It would be like Kraftwerk but with four guys scribbling feverishly with their pens.
Draftwerk.
Instant buy, Stylophone had been quietly on fire the last couple of years.
Also an insta-buy for me as I think it would make an awesome birthday gift for my soon to be 9 year old.
I see that Stylophone’s official Instagram page responded and stated it would be $50 and releasing in July.
Ok for 50$ it’s a fun lofi sound machine. I’m mostly looking from an lo-fi beats/ambient perspective. Only ‘downside’ is it not having stereo panning. But for 50€ its kind of their take on some pocket operators
Honestly just having something to grab quick one shots and play around with creatively, seems well worth the $50. I think this would be a great way to introduce someone younger into sampling and sequencing patterns too.
I’m seeing nothing about the sample rate or bitrate - this is critical info, in that if both numbers are nice and low it could be a cool lofi device. I hope they haven’t made the mistake of making it too good.
Ironically you’ll see others saying it’s just a toy and with cheap IC’s it should manage those 4 sloth with cd quality even for that price and it could have been a good portable sampler ![]()
Ha true - for £50 I’ll be impressed if it’s not an empty box
