Strymon BigSky reverb

I’ve been thinking of grabbing a BLUE SKY pedal to run my synths through. It’s a fair bit cheaper than the big players (eventide space, strymon big sky etc.). Could users share their experience? I’m looking to use it with mono synths to create shimmers and a big, epic sound.

looks like the mods mistakenly merged your thread regarding the Blue Sky with this thread discussing Big Sky… so maybe you need to edit your post to clarify which one you’re interested in…?

I’ll comment on both though. I had the Blue before Big came out, sold Blue, had Big for a few years, sold it to buy Blue. and I have a similar story regarding Timeline versus El Capistan. basically I came to the realization that I don’t like these all in one pedals all that much as I don’t like the additional menus and options that are hidden, and I don’t need preset save/recall. I have pretty simple reverb and delay needs and I prefer the WYSIWYG aspect of the Blue Sky and El Cap. they do have an additional layer you need to hold both swirtches in to access, that’s the only semi-annoying thing about them. otherwise I think they’re excellent, easy to use and sound phenomenal. you’ll likely love the Blue Sky. but fwiw, basically all Strymon pedals are phenomenal, you really can’t go wrong (so it could be a gateway drug for you!).

I have a Nord Stage 3 - which goes into my Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 -I have a MacBook Pro with Mainstage . Omnisphere etc . I am using my Nord as a controller while also using the sounds fom my Nord - I just purchased a Strymon Big so not sure how to hook up my Big Sky to run my MacBook stuff as well as the NORD thru the BIG SKY into the Focusrite Scarlett to front of house sound system at my church - any help is appreciated

Do you play techno or house for the church?

If you have the in/outs available, you can connect the Big Sky to both an in and out and route your instruments to it via your DAW. That’s how I have mine setup, we’ll actually, have it hooked up via Patchbay that’s then connected to my CPU via my MOTU interface, but same difference.

Yeah, just route line outputs 3 and 4 to the big sky, then route it back into the interface via inputs 3 and 4 on the back then you can set it up as a send or external effect in your DAW.

Here’s a demo of how to do it in Ableton.
